I just thought you weigh your bags before you leave, and then maybe once just before your flight back with a scale in the hotel room.
I didn't think about how you would buy stuff and your bag would weigh more later. but tbf you could plan it by leaving free space and keep your weight few kg under what the limit is. then you can fill that space before you come back.
