    No mention of bands.

Datasheet on their US website has shocking band support for Australia. Not clear if the Australia one is different, but I can't see anything to indicate it is. https://static.inseego.com/us/download/wavemaker-fx2000-data…

Nice price, got it for $199 couple months ago. It's sub-6GHz but I still reliably get 400mbps down in my area.

    • How is the wifi range in your opinion?

    • Thanks, which ISP?

Am planning to use with Optus on a short term work assignment.

    • Could you use this on the go with a regular phone Sim as a poor man's starlink? Hoping this would help boost my Felix Sim lol

      • I couldn't find any information about it having a battery so you'll need an external one.

        • Oh I sort out the battery issue. Just curious if it's as good as a 4g/5g booster but budget

Been looking for a breadbox and thought I just found it! 😂

    • 🤣 i thought it’s sort of some kitchen utilities appliances and skim thru i also thought it was some kind of organised container for the router, then read carefully and see that it’s actually a router

    • I thought it was an outdoor ip65 waterproof power box

  • Am I correct that I cannot use this for a normal wired broadband connection that will fail-over to 5g? I could only see a LAN port, not WAN on it.

    • +5

the 4/5G Sim is the WAN link.

    • You would probably need to connect this and your existing router to some kind of switch or directly to a single device you want to ensure a connection on.

  • Is it worth buying it, if I already have Telstra 5G network, that I pay $85 pm?
Btw, the document mentions using a SIM, where do I get this SIM?

    "This Jen, is the internet."

  • Can I put my mobile phone card in? And use it for home internet if I have enough data on my plan? Cheers

    • Yep, given the router supports your carrier.

    • Just use your phone as a hotspot.
I've never had wifi any other way. Phone Battery is still as good as new - lasts a couple of days (Nokia 3 from 2018).

I assume a router would have better range and configurability.

      • True but it really depends on indoor coverage/range and 5G compatibility. But a phone has the added benefit of being completely portable so you can take it anywhere.

This one at $99 is a good price, shame it’s sold out.

    • I think yes as it needs a sim card and will use data from your plan with the mobile carrier.

  • Any good 5G plans?

    • I'm on an iiNet 5g 50mbps plan, it is $50/month for 6 months then $60. They also sent me a router included. I had heard bad things about 5g but for me it's consistent, reliable and delivers the promised speed.

      • +2

        $60 is still a fair bit…

    • TPG 100gb large plan at $22.50/month for 6 months and $45/month thereafter.

There's also the $10 off your first order plus free shipping when making an account which is a nice bonus.

  • Looking at the comments:

    Seem like an older modem.
But if @Febb can get 400mbps, that good enough for me

Got excited for a second. I was looking for a wave maker for my fishtank.

  • Expired?

  • Just ask Copilot and it answer: "You don't necessarily need to upgrade your modem to watch Netflix". Ok! next deal.

Code expired after doing all my research on it rip

  • grabbed one, thanks OP
