For anyone wanting super fast reading (almost instant) - this is down to $79.99 if you tick the $20 coupon code.

To be frank, I have all the other cheap ones and I find the quick reading of this to be worth it if you are going to poke multiple pieces of meet quickly to read their temp.

    super fast reading (almost instant)

Moe: You can flash-fry a buffalo in 40 seconds.
Homer: Forty seconds?! But I want it now!

  • Does this read surface temp of the pan well?

Sure it will if you push it all the way through the meat.

Meh. Would rather save $60 and have and get my readings in 3s with a cheaper alternative e.g. Inkbird.

    • Think of all the accumulated time you'll save! Minutes! MINUTES!

    • For this price, buy one Inkbird (or cheaper TheroPro) for each steak, and leave it in for continuous readings. Like you do for a roast.
The TP-25 has multiple probes and talks to your phone.

Getting a "super fast" thermometer to swap rapidly between meat pieces is just not a smart solution.

Hang on, what is wrong with the "ThermoPro TP18 Ultra Fast", currently $25 ??

If "ultra fast" is not enough, I refer to the first comment above.

    • I like my inkbird. It reads very quickly

    • Fast read thermometers are good when you're doing large cooks. When you have 20+ things on the BBQ and you want to take the temperature from multiple spots, the difference between 1s and 3s adds up. Especially if you've got things that cook fast and need to get the temperature just right, like a whole bunch of steaks of varying thicknesses.

I've got some cheaper thermometers as well as an expensive instant-read one (Thermapen) and the difference is huge when you put them side by side. Not worth it for most people but it's been very useful to me. Love my Thermapen.

Incredibly expensive for a thermometer. I think I paid $17 for one off amazon years ago and its worked perfectly fine.

    • A fair few years ago it was either expensive Thermopro instant reads or less expensive probes which took 15 seconds.

The gap has closed considerably and the less expensive ones are actually cheap and quick, but Thermopro are still priced the same.

  • Keep track on aliexpress, you should be able to get this model for $40.
But if you need 1 asap this is still a reasonable price, comparable to a thermapen.
For those saying the cheaper alternative at 3s is comparable, I disagree, I have used it against other 3s or 1s inkbirds and they don't compare.
