  • Wow that's cheap

How does it compare with Pilsner Urquell on flavour, etc?

    • Probably closer to budejovicky budvar but being canned isnt as nice as bottled.

      • +3

Agreed re: Budvar. Praga is a perfectly good Central European-tasting beer. I picked up a slab with for this price last night and am feeling glad. In 375ml equivalence, it's under $40 for the slab.

    • +2

Lots of comments in the previous post about taste, origin etc.

Pilsner Urquell is the king, nothing else comes close, especially this praga shite

      • don't just neg if you can't handle the truth

        • people just hate hearing the truth

          • +1

@9hundred: trust me, praga is horrible because it's sweet, whereas PU is bitter the way beer should be.

    • Less hops, bit sweeter.
Pretty nice really. Easy to drink
Id pour it into a pint glass.

Seems a in-house brand outsourced over seas..

    • I don't quite understand what you mean, but no.
      https://www.pragapils.eu/

      • Meaning they only produce it for export as it would not sell very well in Czech Rep.
Not saying it is bad for Aussie market, just that Czechs have specific expectations.

    • +1

Brewed for export, but still a very nice beer.

  • How does this compare to Henninger?

    • +4

      A lot better.

      • -1

        Otenger is better

        • +1

Better than Henninger, yes. Praga is the pick of the 3 in my opinion.

          • +1

@Spendmore: I might try Otenger. I've also enjoyed Paulaner from Aldi which I enjoy. I didn't even know German purity law was a thing. They taste great. Thanks 👍

          Haha, Öttinger?

  • $51.20 for me here in Melbourne.

  • +1

I've had a can to drink last night..For some reason, there was a metallic aftertaste. Not sure if it's expected from a can beer, a particular batch or this brand is an issue.

    • Might not have been fresh and sitting in the can too long?

    • -2

Thats a can thing, you cant beat a bottle. This comes in bottles of 330ml but isnt as cost effective.

      • +4

Disagree, in-date canned beer shouldn't taste metallic at all, plus bottled beer is technically worse because you can get light struck whereas canned beer can't.

        • -1

Bottled beer always tastes better than cans.

    • I got this too, don't rate them personally.

    Code not valid in SA

Can use TAKE10 to bring it down to $54.00

    TAKE10 in SA

  • -2

    Taste is horrible

  • Got it, thanks OP
$50 for a carton of 500ml cans is great imo

  • Never tried this and no stores near me with stock… Is it still worth it for $60 ($10 shipping) 🤔

  • I got a message saying they can't fulfil the order so are giving a refund and $10 credit.

  • +1

Bought 4 boxes last time. No regrets. Lovely beer.

    • What else do you drink or if interest.

      No judgement, just analysis

      • Honestly everything tbh. But for preference. My favourite is Kozel + Meggy sour cherry beer.

  • Its funny because i purchased the one from the last deal. That was 9/12 and it arrived yesterday. Click and Collect is the way to go if your lucky enough to have a store nearby.

  • People comparing it to ottinger and hollandia is not very encouraging lol

    • It's more like Carlsberg :)

    • It’s much better, but you have to like Euro beers.

  • Thanks OP. Got the last one at Salisbury QLD - "It's been very popular for some reason"
