Does Lexus Offer Discounts on Their Cars?

Been looking to buy a Lexus vehicle, and when I visited the dealership, the salesperson indicated that the car prices are fixed as their clients don't require discounts.

Has anyone purchased a Lexus in recent years and what kind of discount did you obtain?

Of course they offer discounts. Almost all cars can be discounted, besides niche high-end models which sell at or over list. Unless you're buying a LFA, that's not going to be a Lexus model.

The Lexus dealer must have taken you for a rube to use that line on you.

The last time I bought a car the dealer commented 'You didn't seem like you would need a discount to afford the car' and I said I didn't need it but wanted it and wouldn't be buying it on any other basis. Suggest you use the same line.

    • Do you know what discount you can get? Or what did you get?

Whirlpool use to have a thread about what the "street" price was for certain makes/models.

If you don't see your model there, look for a FB/Reddit group.

Basically, the dealers and manufacturers have a different deal every month or so - one month it may be cheap financing, the next month it may be free metallic paint, etc. If you need financing, then it might be best to wait for a cheap financing deal. If you don't, then wait for a month without a financing deal.

If you are buying a car that is in stock with your colour and options, even better if it's already at the dealership or in the showroom, then you have an opportunity to negotiate.

If it's a built to your spec order, or a long wait for delivery, then I would say very little movement on the price. I would aim for free inclusions in this case.

Source: I've never purchased a Lexus nor am I likely to.

      Like free floor mats?

If it's a Camry based ES variant you could negotiate on a free leather rear parcel shelf tissue box holder.

  • my father bought a subaru recently and they too didnt budge much. They even had the same price for the last year model and a demo. They wouldnt give a discount on those either. Ended up with an accessories pack thrown in ($750) and premium plates ($40). I spoke to the dealer principal and he told me they (all car dealers) are moving towards click and collect sales model to save costs on dealerships and sales people.

If people cant afford to pay cash upfront they will offer finance all online.

In 2019 he bought the same car and model my20 shape and got a few thousand off the price with free accessories.

OP: what model are you looking for? I would go for a toyota with similar body style (suv or sedan ect) get the top spec its still cheaper then a lexus
You may even have change for a holiday

Use a broker like MotorScout. They'll do all the legwork and secure a discount without you having to do any haggling at all. Free service, highly recommended.

Yes and no. What car? What spec? Ready to pay deposit and dealer has the car on the floor?

Stock is building up. Been hassles by a few car sales people that got a hold of my number from 6 months back.

If you ozbargain correctly eventually you end up with so much money you have to buy a Lexus.

Incorrect Ozbagrain probably cost you more money because you end up buying crap you dont actually need

    Timing is everything.

If you are just wondering how much of a discount, then you aren't showing signs of eagerness to buy a car.

If you know what price you want to pay and are willing to pay a deposit on the spot - that's a different story.

Are you also trading in a vehicle? That can also help in the negotiating process.

  • Lexus offer some great perks though. You can rent any of their cars for a week a few times a year.

Lexus do have discounts packages and one of them is what they called the corporate discounts. Ask your dealer about it and see if you may be eligible. Though it is not much, may be just a few thousand dollars off.

    • No corporate discount, it's called corporate pricing, but generally the same as what can be negotiated (or more expensive).

Perk is the 3 years free service.

  • Of course they do. Try another dealership.

  • I was in the market for a long time to buy a Lexus IS300 Brand new. Used Lexus' sellers also do not budge on price and they sit on the market for so long. The people that can afford these cars brand new will pay what is advertised.

  • If you c an fond a deal or a cheapie 2nd hand wait until EOFY and fingers x'ed.
    Or…
Gold plate your Toyota badges, same factory, same quality and a far better price.
    Less devaluation also.
