  • When does the 180 days start? From purchase, or first use?

And does the referral $1000 stack or xtra 180 days?

I have signed up and got the email for the $5,000 but not sure on how to order the reader? anyone got it?

on the Buy A Reader page, where your discount will be AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED at checkout. T

    • "To take advantage of the free hardware, you must order during sign up."

      • Says free above ..but checkout value is full price.

        • Free for me when ordered at end of sign up process. Clicked through to next step: select Reader.
Promotion credit applied automatically - was free.

"you must order during sign up."
If you leave end of signup before that step - it won't apply the credit - you'll have to pay.

  • +3

same as some other people… all verified etc, but no free reader.. nothing about it.

    • same

  • anyway to check the $5000 processing Fee-Free fee is applied?

  • does anyone know if invoices count towards the 5k limit?

  • Do you have the link for buy a reader page?

    • "To take advantage of the free hardware, you must order during sign up."
Just continue after sign up to order free reader.

      • It doesn't work, make a new account and its still showing $65

        • Worked for me. Automatically applied discount as casual user by clicking continue after signup.

          • @INFIDEL: Where do you go from the dashboard to get the free hardware?

            • @lothus777: Followed process in Deal Description.
Never went to Dashboard, stayed in signup.

After signing up (selecting to use Reader in that process), clicked continue.
It just passed me through to select hardware, clicked $65 one - free at checkout.

              • @INFIDEL: Looks like it's going thru manual review before letting me pass to the next page :/

  • Thanks. Fairly easy signup.
    Continued through to order Reader.

Free Reader on its way in 2-7 business days - received email confirmation🎉

  • Successfully signed up as an individual. Did not need to link a bank account either, only needed an identity check.

Have received confirmation that the order for the device has gone through successfully and will be sent shortly.

    • Strange… Link still says free reader on sign up. But it's charging full value.

      • Has to be ordered within sign up - at end, click continue to choose Reader. Promotion credit applied automatically at checkout.

        • +1

Im half way through sign up …. It's full price.

Promo must have dropped off at closing time or similar.

I'm leaving the sign up half finished until tomorrow.

          • @tunzafun001: Until you complete sign up - you don't qualify for promotional credit towards Reader.

Credit is only applied in step at end of signup, when you choose the Reader.
Assume some others missed that important step!

            • +1

@INFIDEL: That is the step I'm up to ..with a $65 reader at full price.

It's clearly munted at the moment. Hence i'll wait until tomorrow.

  • What did you put as the trading name?

  • Any credit check situation here?

  • Isn't the hardware redundant now that you can use the Square app and do pay directly to the iPhone's NFC?

That being said the free processing is a good deal. Wish this was available when I signed up a few months ago for my kid's school's P&C.

Customers would likely be more assured by payment made through a physical Reader (like in a normal business) than tapping a strangers phone using an app.

    • +1

Some people like to insert their cards and this will do it.

  • -3

    Tried twice and both charged.

  • -4

Signed up and it's charging full price for the reader

  • no free reader at the end , showing full price

  • -1

    Doesn’t work, showed $55

  • +1

    showing full price after registration

  • -1

Didnt work went through full setup. Deactivated account.

    • -4

Until you complete sign up - you don't qualify for promotional credit towards Reader.

(Some haven't completed sign up, but complain they aren't able to order free Reader. Some are stuck at verification.)

Credit is only applied in step at end of signup, when you click continue to choose the Reader. It's free.

"you must order during sign up."

If you leave at end of signup before continuing to that ordering step, it won't apply the credit.
      You'll have to pay!!

Assume some missed that vital step!

      Worked without problem for me.
Received confirmation email free Reader to be sent.
$5000 free Card Transactions shows in Dashboard.

      • +3

It doesn't work at the.moment bud.

        Wait until tomorrow everyone.

Don't waste your time… I'll report back if it works again tomorrow..

  • OzBargained ?

    • -1

Someone reported this Deal "Expired/Sold Out" over 4 hr ago.
Worked for me long after that.

  • +3

Not working for me. Followed all the steps, got to checkout and still showing $65.

    • -1

You clicked continue (to order Reader) at end of sign up? Dont leave before that!
Otherwise credit isn't applied as "you must order during sign up."!

      • Yep, followed through the entire flow.
Even tried it on a 2nd email.

  • +2

umm I wen through signup from start to finish - selected square reader and Im up to final agreement and its still $65 with a place order button

  • It’s been fixed.. tested on two emails no longer works. Followed all instructions exactly.

    • Opposite to "fixed".

      It's broken.

It says sign up for a free reader until March 25. Its meant to be free.

      • It does say whilst stocks last too - so I imagine it got OzBargained and the amount they allocated for free has been used up

  • Same came out $65 deactivated

  • +1

Now how many people who managed to get it for free will actually use it?

    • will definitely use it for the first 5000 spend…

      • +2

Same for me. I don't pass the card fee onto my customers so this will get me a little bit extra back.

  • Yea, didn't get the chance to order during the sign up process and when I completed the sign up and order, the devicem no discount.

The main webpage still says free, I'm going to try to talk to the customer service and see what happens

  • +2

Definitely not working as it did - i signed up yesterday under ABN. Tried again today for a casual account and there’s no way to get the free reader anymore/currently

  • Can't wait to sneak in 1.6% fees to unsuspecting customers. Cheers!
