😂😂😂
this one only for Intel mb. not good for AMD.
Does it have EXPO Profile?
Ah. Nevermind.
XMP and EXPO are interchangeable, doesn't matter if it has one or the other
Pretry good price, Paid $189 from local store before.
I wish it was 64GB.
Just tell Jeff it's your birthday for a free upgrade.
@Fat Horny Ghost - is this true?
I wish it was 64kg of gold.
Do not trust RAMs shipped from Amazon US. I bought there 3 times and all of them were terrible.
First time it wasn't delivered. I was home all day and Amazon told me no one was home, and the parcel went directly back to the US. What the hell????? Fortunately, Amazon did an immediate refund for that.
Then I bought the same one again. It was labelled Usually dispatch in 4-6 weeks. After 2 months wait, I found the item was in stock and they still didn't ship mine. Amazon Customer Service told me my parcel would never be shipped because of error in their system. They told me to cancel the order and buy again. I did. However, the item arrived with opened box and damaged inner package. It was just disgusting. I returned that.
The 3rd time, I bought G.Skill Royal Neo 6400C30 from Amazon us via AU. This time the item was perfect but it couldn't even tun stable under EXPO. The same timings and even tighter ones were stable even on my Kingbank 6400C32 kits.
The third set, I dont think you can blame Amazon for the instability. It would either be you got a bad batch that wont play nicely with your motherboard, or you hadnt updated your motherboard's BIOS.
yeah, no to Amazon, I was blaming GSkill
The flagship product was even worse than a base model from a brand you never heard
For the mobo or bios issues, the whole system was identical except only the RAM
All I got from this is you got free ram and decided to return a cancelled(??) order cause….the packaging was damaged. The time inconvenience for sure sucks, but I don’t imagine that’s a factor if you decide to purchase overseas.
Saying they were terrible on the basis that one set of ram did not perform as well as a different kit is kinda overgeneralising as well. Could have been a lemon, which unfortunately is more common with ram than most other parts.
Edit; unless you mean the re-ordered one. Disregard the entire post if so
Of course I bought it again, how could I get another one without paying again?
Yep, ram is pretty cheap in comparison to the rest of the PC parts, not worth the risk buying from randoms
Does anyone know if you can now purchase 2 kits of 32gb for a 64gb total with AMD systems? Or do AM5 motherboard still not like being a 4 x config?
I read recently that 2 sticks is better then four for AMD 9000 series. Thats why I want a 64GB kit.
2 sticks will run more stable at XMP/EXPO, if u want some OC headroom u want 2x24GB H24M
You won't get high speeds on 4 sticks. Best bet is 2x32gb CL30/6000.
Infinity fabric doesn't like much above 6000 anyway from the reading I've done
AM5 still doesnt play nice to all 4 RAM slots used (AM4 eventually did and I know because I did it..I ran 4x16GB sticks and was able to run them on DDR4-3200 easily).
If you really want oodles of RAM, best bet to is source 2x48GB sticks…not easy to find locally so you may have to use Amazon Global but that would be your safest option.
Double check this against your motherboards QVL. Ryzen is very picky about running on EXPO, especially at higher clocks.
I assembled my first AMD-based computer last year, using the following components: a Ryzen 7800X3D CPU, G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5 6000MHz CL30 32GB (2x16GB) AMD EXPO RAM, and an MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard.
The issue I encountered is that the 7800X3D CPU officially supports memory speeds up to 5200MHz. To achieve the 6000MHz speed of my RAM, I had to enable the RAM's EXPO feature. However, enabling EXPO causes the system to perform memory training during every boot, resulting in a boot time of 2-3 minutes.
I attempted to resolve this by enabling Memory Context Restore, but this occasionally led to blue screen errors. As a result, I had to disable EXPO and settle for running the RAM at 4800MHz.
For these reasons, I cannot recommend this particular RAM, and I am likely to return to an Intel system for my next build.
Just run xmp ram on ryzen. Expo is a joke, no idea why people recommend it.
Expo = self certified - i.e. manufacturer just has to say they've passed the test and they get it.
Xmp = third party certified. Manufacturer has to pay a third party to test their ram.
Less (not nil) likelihood of deceiving customers.
would a xmp ram run fine with an amd cpu?
Yes
I have the same motherboard running fine, did you update thr bios?
Oh wait I have CL36
I have the same b650 tomahawk mb, running 9600x and corsair 32gb cl30 6400mhz with expo enabled and it's been fine on the latest BIOS. Maybe try updating if you haven't already done so
I've got the CL30 64GB kit running at 6000Mhz on EXPO and had the same issue with the long boot time. Disabled the test on boot and now from power on to login prompt feels like 15 seconds tops, with no blue screens in the year since I've fixed it. Suggest you update your bios because it's probably not the RAM.
I'm building a new PC with the same RAM and a 9800X3D, hopefully I don't have those issues. I just checked and the 9800X3D official max speed is 5600.
Your issues had nothing to do the RAM itself.
This was all due to the immaturity of the AM5 platform and these issues have been resolved, I would update your board's BIOS and try again.
I have an ASRock board, 7800X3D CPU and had no issues with G.SKILL RAM (DDR5 6000 CL32) at launch. ASRock were one of the few manufacturers that were relatively issue free. MSI and Gigabyte particularly, had lots of issues.
As far as going back to Intel, I would recommend that you familiarise yourself with the recent issues with 13th and 14th gen processors.. and Intel's handling of the issue (or the lack thereof)..
It appears your memory is on the Motherboard's QVL which means it confirmed as supported and will work.
Lexar ARES RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 6800MHz, Supports XMP 3.0/AMD Expo, CL34-45-45-108
This is only $140.35. Should be Hynix A-die, much better than this
Shows as $246 for me.
It was
Ignore this, price expired
I meant it was the price when I post. Plz explain the neg
Any DDR4 kits?
Correction: after discount it's $159.07 - Math no good
