Saba is having a sale lately but with limited sizes.

With the discount, it's great value for money.

They also have the Stretch Poplin Shirt for $48.30 in various colours. It's a little too thin in my opinion but is extremely light weight.

And here’s me feeling happy I finally found my size … always hard to find sale clothes when you’re 2 metres tall and solidly built.

I recently looked at some Saba shorts and discovered they were made in Bangladesh. I don't think its possible for them to find any cheaper manufacturing costs anymore.

What makes one pair of chino shorts made in Bangladesh retail for $129 and another pair of chino shorts made in Bangladesh retail for $20?

        Capitalism.

      • Quality of the cotton fabric, dye and stitching. It really depends on the specific factory nowadays, but Bangladesh produces quite good cotton clothing. China does too but it's varies depending on the specific factory and designs.

I've got multiple shorts from Saba thats lasted about 4-6 years and only just started to notice fading on some. No loose stitches yet and seams are fairly well put together. I rarely need to iron them which is bonus as well compared to other shorts but still need to do some steaming compared to my Kmart short jeans which never creases for some reason while my other ones get destroyed in the washing machine.

At this price range it's a no brainer to me, but I can't think of any other brand within this price range that offers such quality + design.

I tried Zara, but the dye started to fade within 1 year so stayed away from that brand. Ralph Lauren shorts quickly deteriorated and the cotton thinned out in certain sections (above the pocket area) quite quickly and then became a hole. Hugo boss was ok but creases often. Uniqlo has been great and is a contestor lasting many years with a clean and minimalistic design but is not as 'sleek and put together' like Saba in terms of design.

I don't calculate and keep a tally on how many wears and washes it has gone through the washing machine, but I often wear a different variant of the Saba shorts almost daily and no major issues apart from fading in certain areas and discolouration.
