              • @12Sydney34: thanks, just signed up. I guess I'll just wait for their call.
Just a hassle that I would now need to keep an eye for incoming calls as I normally would just reject all calls unknown numbers. :|

Or if they would just email or sms to contact that would even be better.

  • +1

Can't get the address checker to work…

  • TPG is offering this at similar prices too. Just check TPG is iiNet isn't available for you. Although I think TPG own iiNet anyway lol

    • That one is 6 month contract or $99 install fee a worse offer

      • 6 month contract for 6 months of discount - what's the issue?

        • No contract for iinet. Also cheaper at Max tier

  • +2

Anyone know when this deal will end?? Looking to use Capti for one more month before I make the jump over to iinet

    • I am guessing maybe 2-3 weeks? I doubt these promos will last for months?

  • Had this installed just before Christmas and it's close enough to advertised speeds. YMMV though.

At the time TPG has similar pricing too. And they still do…
    FTTB50 Unlimited - $35/month (then $69.99/month)
    FTTB100 Unlimited - $37.50/month (then $74.99/month)
    FTTB250 Unlimited - $40/month (then $79.99/month)
    FTTBMax Unlimited - $45/month (then $89.99/month)

    • One thing i found is that TPG has a setup fee for no contract, no setup fee either 6-month contract.

iiNet no contract and no setup fee… win/win

  • It doesn't look like they let you pick a future date for the installation

  • Just going through their plans and am wondering what's the difference between their type of plans?

Going FTTB 50/15mbps at $39.00 seems to be the most economical based on speed
Home Wireless Broadband -15/2mbps looks slower and more expensive $49.99
5G Home broadband - 50/15mbps $49.99 looks like the same speed as FTTB but just more expensive.

The most economical seem to be the FTTB but why do the other plans they offer look more expensive for slower/same speeds?

  • I'm looking to switch from TPG, does anyone have any experience with the process of canceling with one provider and signing up with the next one? Presumably I have a 30 day notice period.

Can I contact iiNet immediately to start my plan after my TPG ends?

    • Have not switched between these two but when I signed up to iiNet, took 4-5 business days before getting connected. I was switching from NBN FTTP to iiNet FTTB, in my case both were up concurrently for 1-2 days.
A technician has to come onsite.

  • Would swapping from NBN FTTB to this require any kind of modem change? Using an Asus DSL-AX82U

The internet comes to my apartment via the phone line currently, capped at 100/20, I don't understand how that can change? I thought the phone lines (copper) can't handle higher?

    • TPG/iiNet FTTB uses G.Fast to get higher speeds. Actually the wholesaler is a TPG subsidiary,
      https://www.visionnetwork.com.au/

      Totally separate from NBN.

      Yes tpg/iinet supply a new modem/router.
For speeds 250+, there is a G.Fast NTU/modem in front of the router.

      • So when you transfer back from FTTB to normal NBN again you just need swap back to your old modem from the one they have provided?

Sounds like a hassle for me as I would need to pair again all my smart devices connected to the old wifi.

I wonder if anyone else had this problem or possible just me as I have so much smart plugs connected to my wifi.

        • Yes you can swap back to your NBN router.

For me, not a hassle as I always configure the same wifi SSID on all my routers (my own and ISP supplied).
Never had to reconfigure any of my devices.

          • @12Sydney34: Oh I see. thanks,
I'll do some research on how to keep SSID the same from my old one so it wont be a hassle for me to pair my smart plugs again.

            Update:
Actually I saw in google that I just need to use the same name and password as the old network and the smart wifi devices should connect automatically.
            Hope this would work.

  • Pfft, they're not going to win me back after completely screwing up.
Was with iiborg for 20 plus years until I finally left. TPG has completely screwed them up.
    Good riddance.

    • How did they screw you up?

  • If this is totally separate from NBN, why am am I only offered 100 as the max tier? That is the limit I had with NBN in my building due to NBN Class 13 whatever that means.

If they have G.Fast, does this mean I can upgrade to a faster tier once technician is onsite?

    • Not all buildings have been upgraded to G.Fast yet so maybe yours is one of them. 100Mbps would be the max in that case.
