    Scoot Return

    🤞

    • Same score at Qantas. It's a low cost airline, don't expect a good service.

      • +1

        Qantas is 7% better.

have also noticed some fairly cheap flights to joburg (ex perth but also true of other cities) on Singapore airlines around june. $1600 return. any chance of compiling this info

Singapore Airlines regularly has Osaka return for less than $800…

    • +2

Yeah, I wouldn’t touch there 'Japan deals' with a 10 foot pole, considering there are deals from full service Chinese airlines for cheaper, and if you wanted direct flights they're only about 200 extra and you get food, drink, IFE and luggage, whereas they charge for water and don’t allow outside food or drink, so you'll likely to pay another $50 just on extras.

Scoot only really works out for Singapore and South East Asia flights as their prices to other destinations are a bit to close to full service airlines these days.

  • Still no good for my dates, damn. Comparable prices with Philippine Airlines though, which you did recommend me awhile back. Considering March is fast approaching, that's probs my best bet now unless there's a random return free sale from Jetstar but considering every sale for months now doesn't include my dates I think I'm just out of luck there.

Speaking of which, I've never used Flight Network before. is it legit? I know I was duped by one of these third parties by not being told I was looking at US prices until I'd paid, lol.

  • They fly onward to Berlin from Athens, as a fifth freedom flight if you brave to endure more of their service (or lack of). Probably can get it for free or cheaper on the same booking.

    • How would you do that? And how do you learn about this sort of thing?

Can you book a free flight like a week or a few days later or it has to be on the same ticket?

      • Learned by accident. Same ticket. Just put Berlin as a final destination in the search.

      • +1

yep, I was searching scoot for one way tickets to europe back in december and the price to athnes was the same as to berlin on several days I checked (mostly in march). The flights were departing from singapore late night and arriving in athens in the morning with like 1.5hour in athens and than another maybe 1.5hr onto berlin. Same price if you flew to ath or berlin.

Wow, for Perth to Osaka at least, those are quite some layover times… 6hrs 40mins (overnight) on the way there and 14hrs 15mins (again overnight) on the way back. Not sure the flights are cheap enough to make up for that…

  • Not sure how many people will be on that flight from Melbourne to Athens between the 18-20th of October lol

    • im guessing most of those ppl wont be coming back at least

  • Thanks OP. Do you know when the sale ends…?

Booked 4 x return tickets to Koh Samui via Singapore on Scoot for $3600 over the NSW winter holidays.

$900 return to Koh Samui is pretty amazing considering only Silk Airways/Bangkok Airways were allowed to use the airport for a long time and had really expensive flights.

Also great that it’s Singapore to Koh Samui to avoid the chaos that is Bangkok airport.

Waiting for Nov tickets to Japan! Seems like I’ll find something in a couple of months.

  • Melbourne To Athens
    $761 18 Oct to 20 Oct

Why would I spend 25 hours to go and stay for one day and come back on a 37 hours flight (crying emoji)

    • Think these were dates generated on searches of the fares database. They probably need to remove these flights with such a small time at a destination as any trip on this list needs at least 3 days for long haul.

    • yep pretty dumb.. if you do a week, the price bumps up to $1300.. its prob ok if you dont intend to fly home (one way) and continue on journey via another ticket… then at 761$ is probably decent

  • I’ve been tracking some flights to Malaysia/Thailand for a few weeks now and the flight prices have definitely dropped… but the luggage prices have gone up, making the total price pretty much the same.

    Great “sale”

  • Terrible value to Japan, given you'd need to pay a lot just to bring baggage home, let alone take it there.

  • scoot is $#!£

  • $760 18 Oct to 20 Oct - who the heck fly to Greece for half a day? unrealistic pricing

  • 787's are not a positive, they suuuuck. Too small, tightly packed. 31inch seat pitch in economy like qantas' rubbish 787 set up.

  • I'm looking to travel to Bali for the first time. Plan is to go in May for our anniversary - when do Bali deals generally pop up and what is considered a good price for a return trip from 5-8 days?

    From Melbourne.
