@gromit: I wouldn’t be so sure. I bought a Johnny Walker Black Anniversary edition back in 2010 for about $50 which now retails for upwards of $1000.
@GregRust: A quick google shows $300-350 a bottle (from a retail store, not private sale), but I get your point about them being collectable.
I bought the JW Game of Thrones bottles when they were clearing them out for about $30. Don't know what they are worth, but possibly a little bit considering they are not the same stuff in a different bottle (were a special blend "inspired" by GoT).
@syba: Those GoT Fire and Ice ones aren't worth much. My boss bought heaps of them and was offloading them to helpful tradies for $35 a pop (and now $40).
Most HFA's drinking them just buy based on price.
@syba: Potential value would depend on if they were inspired by the early seasons of GoT or the later ones…

I disagree re: johnnie walker therefore bad. The celebratory release is just over 50%abv and packed with flavour.

Gotta start somewhere! When I first started drinking I was a Glenfiddich 12 person. I wouldn’t buy it today but it still holds a soft spot because it’s what got me started on the other stuff
@Gunnar: Exactly the same as you. I scored GFDC 12 y for $50 at last amazon deal here. It burns my throat when it is neat, I will find a way to drink it, maybe on the rock next shot I will try.
@SYLTB: If that burns your throat try Irish whiskies, the triple distilled nature of Irish whiskies makes them a lot smoother (but this also means they lose on flavors - not an exact science but it’s a rough guide)

Does this come in a box? I recall seeing a black label with a box at Liqourland 2 months ago. I asked the worker if these actually came in a box (because they no longer do), and she said, "yeah only these ones. These are special edition so once it's sold there will be no more".
I've this exact S.E design in my cabinet for over 5 yrs so it has been around. I also have another S.E design in which the bottle is wrapped in Black but has splashes of Gold.
