Samsung Galaxy S 8GB Wi-Fi MP3 Player with 4.2 Inch Display - White $117.58 Delivered at Amazon

60

According to the reviews on Amazon it comes with 3 extra backs for the device, a wall charger a USB cable and an 8gb sd card

Reviews seem very possitive (nothing under 3 stars) many from past iPod users.

Screen resolution is down from an iPod but other features seem comparable.

  • I thought it was a phone. Is the GS phone only $50 more expensive than this MP3 player?

    • It's just an android version of the ipod

      • Though, unlike the iPod, this one has GPS?

        • yep

It's a smartphone, so the screen takes up most of its space.
It has round corners, what are the options: square or round?
It has a earphone conveniently place where you would put your ear. Maybe Samsung should have put it somewhere else?
It has a home/menu button located in the middle of the phone to allow for ambidexterity. But then again, when the screen takes up the whole phone face where else do you put the button?

The volume and power buttons are located on the side…. but wait they were doing that before Apple!! OMG, Apple copied Samsung!

      Grow up.

Samsung took the same logical design choices to create a series of phones that allowed them to enter into the smartphone/touchscreen market as Apple did. And regarding this media player: Would it not be foolish of a company to leave a rival product uncontested?

Apple just copied the design from Motorola, the A1000 was an impressive phone in 2004!

What I find funny is you walk into the candy aisle at a Coles supermarket, and they have rip off chocolate funpacks.. Twix, Bounty, Snickers, Mars, Kit Kat, etc… exactly the same as Cadbury's versions. IDENTICAL. But they don't get sued for it.

They also do the same with the cereals. Rice Bubbles, Coco Pops, Corn Flakes, Nutri Grain etc..

Samsung no doubt were influenced by Apple's designs, but not near as much as these Coles copycat products. But Coles is not being sued. If Apple owned Kellogs on the other hand…

Also, Apple's new iPod Nanos look eerily similar to Nokia's Lumia 920…

+'d for effort. And a good point.

    • I think the design for all android phones had to adhere to their (Google) guidelines…

On top of that…design is based on what consumers want…simple rule…you produce what people will buy. :)

  • Is this like an Android phone without the phone.. i.e. like an iPod Touch?

    • Yes, almost like an s2 but not a phone. But using apps such as viber etc you can make and receive calls over wifi. Read some of the reviews on amazon. They are quite detailed and will give you lots of info and customer feedback.

  • Does anyone know if this supports bit perfect USB audio out via micro USB straight into an external DAC?

On the apple vs samsung crap, the f700 has many similarities to the original iphone too. You could say apple copied samsung…

In truth, both companies work together and the only reasons they care about your loyalties is to make you pay extra $. If you are true ozbargainer you wouldn't go out supporting one company over another. You'd judge all products on their merit irrespective of what company produces them. Arguing about stupid things like the aesthetics of a product, claiming that one company stole from another is stupid too. Innovation is taking an existing idea and improving on it, if you stop companies from sharing similarities, then you give one company a license to be a monopoly and stop/slow progression…

Its always good to see devices like this dropping to decent value. Better than the overpriced ipod touch.

  • How did you guys estimate shipping before paying for the product.

    Can't see it anywhere!

  • Gingerbread, need I say more?
