Even though I hate Woolworths if you're running low before the amazon S&S deals ($14.84) this is a good substitute till then.

Can anyone explain why Cocobella (Thailand coconuts) taste much sweeter than RawC (Vietnam coconuts)?

Tried to come up with some witty response about how one gives you a happy ending and the other doesn't…but I failed.

"Vietnamese coconuts are like a quiet spa experience — smooth, subtle, and sweet, leaving you relaxed but wanting a little more. Thai coconuts, on the other hand, are like the happy ending of the coconut world — intense, satisfying, and leaving you with a big smile on your face!"

"Vietnamese coconuts are like that sweet, subtle romance — gentle and refined, with just the right amount of sweetness to leave you wanting more. Thai coconuts, though? They’re the happy ending of the coconut world — they’ve got that extra sweetness, like they’re trying just a little bit harder to make you really happy!"

          • @Davelovesdealz:

Just as a Thai massage knows precisely how to knead out every knot and tension, Thai coconuts seem to caress your taste buds with their unparalleled sweetness, leaving you satisfied in a way only they can.

Or maybe just different varieties. Brazilian coconuts are significantly less nutty, and more refreshing.

        • +2

I think this is the answer. Look at how many varieties of apple there are - why would there be only one type of coconut?

      • Funny, I find mature ones sweeter, and younger ones more acidic. All a matter of preference, I guess.

Are we still talking about coconuts here?

      • This is well-known in SE Asia, where drinking coconuts are often marketed as young coconuts.

    • its not just RawC ..coconuts from different countries taste different .. the soil , the water and the minerals in it ..make a difference

I just noticed Woolworth own brand are from Philippines.

So pretty much each brand are sourced from each different country.

    • Type of coconut mostly, might also be how they are picked. I'm guessing both of the brands basically just slap their own label on a mass produced option from either country and as such are made partly to different tastes as well.

If you ever try other brands of coconut from Thailand they taste more similar to cocobella then rawC.

  • It's on sale for that price at either Coles, Woolies or Amazon every other week.

    Is that really a bargain?

Negging diligence?? Why don't you just answer instead, brave mate?

The chocolate flavour is surprisingly good

    • Haven't tried that flavour yet but not really into the Watermelon mint flavour.

    • +2

Really? It tasted bad to me…very artificial flavoring

    • +1

Yeah I agree too. My mates bought one of these to the new years fireworks and I had some. For me it felt like chocolate milk.

Woolworths brand 4l for $10 is always cheaper than anything even on special, is there really that much difference?

    • Both equally great , somehow Cocobella tad sweeter..
New lychee flavour so, so good

    Aww, you poor thing !

    Amazon S&S is live now

  • Aldi coconut water tastes the same, from Thailand.

  • I have found that coconut water has different taste in different people.
My family like H2O, then Raw C and Cocobella is unpalatable. I would rather get the imported brands from local shops that import them.
Wonder if it has to do with some genes that make you prefer certain coconut water more than others?

Maybe someone needs to start a voting thread ;-)

you acquire tastes, so if they only drank cocobella theyd eventually prefer it

  • What's best tasting coconut water?

  • I currently have cocobella and raw c left from the last deal. I've only tasted cocobella and h2o, thought i'd give raw c a go. The first bottle i popped open was disgusting, but the more i drank the easier it was to drink. I'm on my last bottle now and it taste fine, no issues. Not saying it's good, just better than the first sip which made me regret my purchase. It's definitely not as good as cocobella, but i feel like the real coconuts i've had overseas taste more like raw c than cocobella.

It's been years since i had h2o, i recall it being nice.

    • If you have never tasted coconut water before, this would be the easiest beginner's brand to start with as it was quite sweet with no other flavours. However, our regular coconut drinkers were put off as they found it too sweet and not what they were expecting in a pure coconut drink.
