      It's 15 bucks it's not that steep

Football is a much better game than footy w/o many concussion, contusion, memory loss, racial slur, and legal cases.

No one would even know who an a league soccer player is even if they were on trial for murder

      • -3

But they said football is a better game.. not A league right now is a better game. Maybe their point was A league needs more funding and attention.
Honestly, I think in a 100 years or so, soccer would be the number 1 sport in Australia.

It already is the number 1 participation junior sport in Australia.
It's only beaten in total participation numbers by swimming and gymnastics in the very early age / preschool levels. (And both of these are generally non-competitive at these ages.) Basketball is pretty close across all age levels from school age on.

@Snoop: and yet; 1 sport still reigns supreme in Australia for viewership and membership numbers

            • -3

@Danstar: Whilst I was raised on Aussie Rules (and was never a fan of the round ball game as a kid), let's be fair. The AFL is the pinnacle league in the world. And using Premier League as a reference for football (soccer), playing in the ALeague would be the equivalent of playing footy in your local district comp.

Is it a family friendly event? My recent impression of soccer is lots of hooligans.

    • +5

Yes , family friendly and great atmosphere. Maybe best to sit on south side if you don’t want to be near the active north end supporters.

    Thanks OP, got family tickets.

Worthwhile getting the allocated seats on the wing/cnr, or just go GA? It'll be a family of 4 and not sure how popular these games get/will we struggle to find 4 seats next to eachother in GA….

    • +2

I've been GA multiple times for A-league and you'll always find seats, worst case you can ask someone to shift seats across to sit together

Bugger. If only this was for City's game on the 11th against Brisbane.

The A League isn't setting the world on fire but I enjoy the competitiveness. The atmosphere in the stands is great and makes up for the lack of technical skill on the park.
