ThanKS BUDDY! I guess I'll just cancel my Big W order and order it on eBay is cheaper @happy days
Any deals on the mini series?
Maybe hold off. I've had a Mini 3 Pro (sold), now have a Mini 4 Pro, Avata 2 and Neo. Rumours are ramping up about a Mini 5 Pro. But what we know for certain is a DJI Flip will be announced in about a week or so. Maybe 2. It's interesting as because of the sensor, form factor and some other cool things. It's all leaked so you can watch YouTube videos about it but the sensor in it. ..same as Mini 4 Pro exactly.
I’m waiting for the glut after the US bans DJI
LOLOL
DJI O4 20km HD Video Transmission
doesnt work 2km away
lol, is that true? Almost pulled the trigger because of that 20km transmission
I mean I've seen plenty of YouTube videos whereby under the right conditions it's getting 13 kilometers away, something like that.
20km is probably an exaggeration because you will never have perfect conditions or infinite battery, but my air 2s can definitely fly more than 2km
even my old trusty Mini 2 flies well over 4km with many buildings and bush areas in between. This will certainly do more than that I am sure given Mini 2 is rated for 10km range from memory.
What are the major differentiators between this and mini 4 pro?
Isn’t it worth paying the extra $460 for the air 3S now the latest drone from DJI as it has a bunch of improvements:
- Camera: The Air 3S has a 1-inch CMOS primary camera with a larger sensor for better low-light performance, higher image quality, and a wider dynamic range. It also has a 1/1.3-inch CMOS medium tele camera.
- Video encoding: The Air 3S uses a more advanced video encoding compression algorithm that reduces video file sizes by over 30%.
- Battery life: The Air 3S has a flight time of up to 45 minutes per charge.
- Obstacle avoidance: The Air 3S has an improved obstacle avoidance system with a forward-facing LiDAR sensor.
- Return to Home: The Air 3S has an improved intelligent Return to Home that works even without a satellite connection.
- Subject focusing: The Air 3S has subject focusing to maintain a constant focus on a subject that's very close.
- Active Track: The Air 3S has an improved Active Track for vehicles.
- Vertical shooting: The Air 3S supports 2.7K vertical shooting.
- Storage: The Air 3S has 42 GB of storage.
- Video resolution: The Air 3S has a max video resolution of 4K (120 fps).
Nup, unless you need any of those things. I have a Mini 3 Pro and for 99% of people it has everything you need and then more. With the Plus size batteries on the Mini 3 Pro you get 45 minute flight time. It's also small enough that you can have it with you without it being intrusive.
I've found the air is the smallest I can go for high wind areas.
I've put the Mini 3 Pro up in very strong winds. The alarms go off but it still flies. But yes the Air with it's more powerful motors should be able to make better headway into strong winds.
@scratchy: I was thinking of buying a mini 4 pro( standard version with RC2) a couple of days ago the lowest price I can find is $980 at Harvey Norman. I also googled the Air 3 the price is almost the same no hesitate def pick the air 3
@ozvince: At the same price then that is a different answer.
Also this isnt a bargain sorry to down vote but it’s the same price in a lot of other places do one Google shopping search and find it’s even cheaper at dick smith with free shipping if you’re a FIRST member
They are grey imported
So is the big w one it’s supplied by mobileciti if you read the page and it’s $1089 shipped with code MCJAN25 why neg me when I’m just giving you facts that this is not a bargain at all it’s just the standard price.
Didn't you see my post with the $113 cashback that will bring the price down to $1027 what are you whinging about here? I don't think you get that price on the mobileciti website
@ozvince: It’s not whinging to point out that what you posted is not a bargain mate Mobile citi has a 5% off code and cashback as well
https://www.cashrewards.com.au/store/mobileciti
You’ve just posted the standard price of the drone. This is not what ozbargain is for posting a standard deal and some cashback which you can do for almost any site where is the bargain here ?
@sludo: I believe that’s where you should stop whinging mate
OP’s post is pretty clear to me that you can save further with cashback:
Stack with Shopback 9% cashback($93.27) + Westpac 2% bonus cashback($20 cap) brings the price down furthermore
Your link to CR and mentioning of 5% off code doesn’t stack with CR cashback as the code isn’t listed.
Noting that the base price is above $1k, you only get 1.4% cashback, which is way worse than what OP suggestedYour link to Dick Smith requires Kogan First, which can only be obtained via a free trial or paid membership. Cashback is available to all parties.
Also I’d rather give my money to Mobileciti than Dick Smith since they have helped the community with deals over the years via the eBay Plus exclusivesFactoring all of the above, Dick Smith with Kogan First pricing is $1119; Mobileciti cashback of 1.4% is only $15.95 (so $1139-$15.95 = $1123.05, unsure if it factors in GST in cashback calculation). OP’s final price after cashback is $1026.72, which is way cheaper than all of your other alternatives
On a side note - I’ve called you out on a previous JB Telstra post, where you have no idea on what you’re talking about, other than being totally unhelpful. Same thing seems to have happened on this deal too
@BargainsGrabber: I believe you are making a completely invalid point just like you did in the Telstra deal and didn’t call me out on anything it’s just a matter of having a different opinion of what you classify as value, you are not getting a bargain on a product in the jbhifi deal was my point and that’s fine if others disagree but the fact is you’re taking advantage of a ridiculous loop hole that will negatively affect your credit rating, and might I add I guarantee jbhifi will close this loophole the next time they run it by increasing the cancellation fee. Getting a credit check and paying a $766 fee plus $89 for the first month all for a $1200 voucher is a waste of most people’s time and credit reputation.
Sure if you don’t value your own time or want to get a mortgage any time soon to go through all of that to get around a $350 voucher go for it but this is not ozloopholes the point is to find a genuine bargain on a product and post the best possible price you can buy it for, without spending hours applying, cancelling and being on the phone with Telstra and possibly jbhifi then you’ve missed the point of this site.
As for this deal the mobile citi price is $1089 with the 5% discount code I supplied and yes then it can be stacked with another 3% cashback here instead of the previous one then https://www.topcashback.com.au/mobileciti/ Bringing it to $1056.33 a whopping $30 more than OPs post so my point stands again this is not a bargain when we look at the percentage saving on the price in most places it is miniscule.
As for the Kogan first deal with dick smith it’s $1119 with the loophole of cancelling your 14 day free trial which is also available to everyone so again your point is moot if we follow your loophole methodology.
I don’t really care who you’d rather give your money to and that’s irrelevant to getting a bargain, my point is anything around $1000-1100 for this drone is just the standard price right now and IMO this is a waste of a post here that anyone can find with a single Google search.
See the price supplied above for $1039 also https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16129991/redir which is a single Google search away. The fact there are 3 deals all around the same prices is strong evidence this is not a bargain and just the standard price, hence my original point above.
You’d know better than trying to push this argument if you’d been a member here a bit longer and know that it’s not what ozbargain was originally designed for to repost the results of a single Google shopping search or spend hours going through loopholes, these kinds of posts degrade the original point of the website to find a genuine bargain on a product that takes effort for others to find not perform and you can just walk up (or go online) and buy with minimal effort.
@sludo: Read the comment again mate. I asked you a question but you didn’t reply as you were talking nonsense. Also there was another comment below pointed out that you were wrong in every dot points
If a telco offers you to break the contract where you’ve to pay the ETC, how’s that against the Criminal Code of imprisonment?
In your original comment, you said that it’s against Criminal Code of imprisonment. How or where did you obtain or conclude that terminating a JB deal is? Where’s the proof? The number of negs on your comment clearly show this.
As you have stated:
As for this deal the mobile citi price is $1089 with the 5% discount code I supplied and yes then it can be stacked with another 3% cashback here instead of the previous one then
Bringing it to $1056.33 a whopping $30 more than OPs postWhere is the code listed on TopCashback? I definitely can’t see it on my end, and if you have used a coupon, it’s the 1% rate, not the 3% rate.
Listed Coupon Use
1%You said I was making invalid points again.
I believe you are making a completely invalid point
Prove me otherwise then, as so far what you have said are all factually incorrect and I’ve corrected you by providing in my comments to you.
OP’s post after cashback is still cheaper than what you have supplied so far, and even by linking me to a different comment that’s not yours originally, it still turns out more expensive.
these kinds of posts degrade the original point of the website to find a genuine bargain on a product that takes effort for others to find not perform and you can just walk up (or go online) and buy with minimal effort.
That’s your own personal opinion. OzBargain has turned into a deal website on where you can obtain the cheapest available and this is still the case with this post from OP. You yourself have even linked me to a cashback site, so I’m not really sure what’s all the fussed on when it’s the same principle to obtain this cheaply via ShopBack as well
You’re not worth my time to respond to anymore.
@BargainsGrabber: It is cheaper you are right by $30 and I said that above but it’s the same price as 3 other places and yes I mentioned someone else’s comment to prove that OPs post is not the best deal.
WRT the Telstra deal I was simply saying you could be investigated for tax fraud if you bought the phone on a plan claimed the whole amount then cancelled it and got refunded that is against the law that was based on this comment
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16093046/
Nowhere did I say it was:
Against the Criminal Code of imprisonment
Someone interpreted that from the link I provided which also discussed tax fraud. I was simply telling people to be careful on claiming it on tax then cancelling it and refunding it. Claiming something you haven’t actually paid for by EOFY is the very definition of tax fraud.
At this point we are going in circles so happy to end things here, but enjoy advising people and supporting them to spend hours on the phone for a jb hifi voucher and affect their future credit rating.
I notice you don’t even mention this point, as a property investor this is a very bad thing to do to your future financial position, all for a voucher I’ve seen people miss out on properties because of some phone loan they took out years before, that’s all I am trying to point out in that department I do know what I’m talking about so no need for the malicious commentary, in the current housing market it will affect people getting loans especially if they are a FHB or a LIE.
Neg me all you want mate I can still put a couple of points out there for people to consider and have no intention of causing harm when doing so these deals people are providing are not bargains:
Here’s the definition incase you didn’t know:
a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected.
Is 2% less than the standard price thanks to a westpac cashback only if you have a westpac account within that definition? Definitely not and I think this is a spam post essentially that anyone can find easily themselves.
So I’ll continue to post my opinion in future, we are all entitled to freedom of speech you can keep challenging it if you like but I won’t be wasting my time to justify myself replying to you and I don’t need to put the other person down to further my point like yourself try and stay respectful in future.
you have no idea on what you’re talking about
I notice you don’t even mention this point, as a property investor this is a very bad thing to do to your future financial position
I have, but definitely I didn’t mention it on that deal. I have told others that it didn’t affect my credit rating as I’m still above in the excellent tier and have cancelled at least 6-7 in the 2024 year itself.
mobileciti is the local agent/seller. I bought from the DJI AU shop and it was sent by mobileciti. Good service with a change of mind, BTW.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16129991/redir
Same product but it’s cheaper because of the eBay code
Christ these things are so annoying at the beach. Chilling, listening to the waves, and the annoying whine of the rotors really ruins everything
can't hear them when they're more than 3m up.
That isn’t accurate based on my observations this weekend
Nah, I can hear a drone which is at least 500m away - on a quite day of course.
It is very model dependent. The Mini being sub 250gms is a lot quieter than other drones I've flown (Phantom, Mavics and Airs).
As opposed to the sounds of jet skis and screaming kids? If someone's flying directly over you (illegal), or near enough, you can definitely hear them, but < 30 mins of mild buzzing surely isn't enough to "ruin everything"…
You’ve got issues with screaming kids at the beach?
Just because I didn’t mention Jetskis doesn’t mean I think they’re okay
Given we have more beach than anywhere else I’m sure you can find a spot with some peace and quiet.
I don’t. When I go to a populated beach I expect a bit of noise! As long as no one’s deliberately disturbing other people or breaking the law then I don’t have an issue with any of the above, if that’s how people want to enjoy themselves there.
why not get an air3s?
