Citizen Tsuyosa NK5010-51X Automatic Watch $389 (RRP $850) Delivered (and More) @ Starbuy

740

A hefty price drop since the last deal and same price as this deal. Purchased then (for $500) and must say I'm very impressed by the patterned dial and overall build quality. Small gripes are the difficult-to-access crown (which was improved from the previous model generation) and the lack of micro-adjustment in the bracelet. However, I'm happy with the price I paid and so highly recommend at this price.
Both the blue and gold are discounted.
UPDATE: Blue now OOS

Case Diameter: 40mm
Case Thickness: 11.7mm
Crystal: Sapphire
Water Resistance: 50m / 5ATM
Automatic Movement w/ Hacking & 60 hours power reserve

These are part of Starbuy's New Years Sale.
Some other notable models are this Seiko Prospex Speedtimer SSC819P for $499 or this Citizen Promaster Mini EO2028-06L for $199.

i really dont like the integrated bracelet

i blame the tissot prx for this trend

    • Fair enough. Think this is a good gateway for those interested in trying the integrated bracelet style though

Gérald Genta is the one you should blame but in saying that some of the most expensive and highly sort after watches use integrated bracelet designs (Patek, AP, Vacheron and IWC ingenieur).

Depending on the design and brand they look really nice.

Oh how i dream to own a VC 222 in solid gold.

      • Yes, but this is a CITIZEN!

      • Grail is also a 222 in gold. Want it made in white gold but.

According to this guy, the bracelet is swappable, assuming this is the newer model:

      Beautiful watches.

    • Not really just a trend though when the PRX is the best selling automatic globally and for some time.

    Great value

    Boy, you are uggerly

  • -2

Can't imagine that many people have bought this watch, after clicking through to look at it.

In this economy, a simpler-looking watch like this for $389 is a luxury no one would really bother to afford even if they can.

It's still cheap as far as watches go and a good deal but if you are getting your first watch there are much safer options. Get a black, white or navy faced diver and that will get a lot of wear and more versatile. Can't go wrong with G-Shocks either.

In this economy people are still buying applev and smart watches, and $2k phones and ps5s.

  • I love the Tsuyosa and the Promaster Mini.

Not really a big fan of the small seconds. I think the original Tsuyosas are still better. If only I didn't have a PRX, would've definitely snagged one. But still grateful for the PRX as it got me into the hobby. Now i'm 8 watches deep!

Good price. The original was great for citizen but not without its issues. The crown was a bloody pest to try and use, even setting the date was tiresome the first time. The bracelet was also cheap. Fair few improvements on the snag small seconds (tweaked movement, better bracelet) and I prefer no date.

Sure these aren't every day wears, but some people like this style. The PRX has been done to death and turning Tissot into a one trick pony. They really need a 38mm (40mm too big and 35mm too small).

I do find the bracelet too chunky and bling so I got one of these straps for mine. Makes the watch so much more wearable and looks great:

  • Blue model currently out of stock.

Thanks, I’ll update the main link to the gold model

  • Think my el cheapo ali express watch is ripping this one off. Would upgrade down the line !

  • Would love a larger version of that blue promaster. The light blue looks amazing just a bit small.

  • +1

Oh well, I paid $100 more than this with a special Starbuy discount.
I still love the watch though.

It looks much better in the skin than photos

  • Hm… I wonder what are the chances of getting this delivered by Friday to Brisbane if I order on Sunday (leaving Sat)? What is your experience with Starbuy guys? Thanks

    • +1

Starbuy uses Auspost express and from experience have always dispatched the next business day. So I’d say it’s quite likely it makes it there by Friday 🤞

    • +1

Easy done. Holidays are over and I asssume they would be fulfilling orders Monday+Tues for sure.
As mentioned it's usually next day delivery (express post) or the day after.

  • Any recommendations for a black Seiko for a small wrist?

Budget is $200-300 but may consider $500 if the deal is tempting

    • +1

What size is your wrist? Have a look at the Starbuy Seiko page.

They've recently started mentioning the case size in the title which is a good idea.

    • $379 - $25 signup. Not too big and wear really well. The supplied nato strap is pretty thick so just put whatever two piece strap or single pass nato on.

      • I can't seem to find the newsletter sign up link. I've tried a few browsers and even incognito mode, but no luck. Is it a pop up or a link?

        • Hey mate just clear the site data for that site (or cookies) and it will show up next time you open the browser/page.

  • Tried price matching with Myer, apparently it’s below their cost price and they can’t price match.

    • Yeah useless and Wallace Bishop are dicks and waste of time ever going there ha ha. Just order from starbuy, awesome shop.
