    tested, working.

good first step, however real perks start form gold = free breakfast and diamond = free lounge access

    • -1

Yeah diamond is great. Just became diamond in July last year.

      Great room upgrades too

      • Was it a bit of a grind to get there or was it more seamless with your lifestyle than you would imagine?

      • -1

Was very easy once I got my Centurion ;)

    • Free breakfast for just the card holder? Or family too

      • Breakfast was free for the whole family in Hilton Conrad Bali - with Amex card.

      • breakfast (and other benefits) are normally per room (usually 2 people)

    • Breakfast is never free in America, they enforce a tip. I travelled extensively through the US on The free Honours Gold from Virgin status and it was a complete waste of space.

      • Is great in Asia and Europe

      • Do you know what hotel memberships are better ones in the US?

  • It’s been around for years, it is a standard benefit of those cards.

    • I did try look for it prior to posting, couldn't find Long running deal on it.

      • +1

That’s because people don’t usually post every single benefit a credit card gives you in seperate deal posts.

        It is mentioned here:

elite status with major hotel loyalty programs including Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors and others

        • That deal implies that its only for the AmEx Platinum Charge though? This was more to inform that it applies to the remaining Amex line-up.

          • -4

@starburstyellow: Sure, but the information is readily available to cardholders already on the Amex site. This post essentially sets a precedent that every single individual benefit can be posted as a seperate deal, such as:

            • a $450 Travel Credit each year
            • complimentary Accor Plus membership valued at $395 p.a.
            • up to $400 back each calendar year until 31 Dec 2024 when you dine at a curated collection of over 1,400 restaurants
            • up to $84 cashback on Amazon Prime membership
            • elite status with major hotel loyalty programs including Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors and others
            • access to the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts program, which provides complimentary benefits at over 1,300 five-star properties worldwide valued at an average of $800 for a two-night stay
            • earn 2.25 Membership Rewards points per $1 spent on everyday purchases
            • transfer points to 10 airline partners, including both Qantas and Virgin Australia
            • access to over 1,400 airport lounges in more than 140 countries, including Virgin Australia lounges, American Express lounges, Priority Pass, Plaza Premium and more
              top-notch travel insurance cover
            • The Australian and Wall Street Journal digital subscriptions
            • smartphone screen insurance, with up to $500 available twice a year for screen repairs (with a 10% excess)
            • up to 4 free Additional Cards for family members - they can enjoy some the card benefits in their own right, like elite hotel status, travel insurance, and one Priority Pass membership.
            • +11

@WoodYouLikeSomeCash: I understand what you're saying. I was just trying to help anyone who was uninformed as I assumed that some of the perks were only for the Platinum Charge cards, not the others.

              • +1

@starburstyellow: Thanks, I am pretty savvy. Never realised, or had forgotten, as I had gold for 1 year thru some card at some time!.

              • +3

@starburstyellow: it's a really helpful post for many, so thank you.

          • @starburstyellow: It applies to a lot of card deals and many employee benefit programs, I got it from work. It is also pretty crap as silver is definitely not worth doing anything extra for.

  • +3

Damn no free night in Paris included in this deal.

    • +1

I think you can still download that for free?

  • +2

Thanks OP. Didn't realise it was applicable to my Explorer card. Tested and request to upgrade to Silver status successfully submitted.

    • what did you put in the "Existing membership number" field? It's asking for a 10 digit number.

      edit - nevermind, it's asking for a Hilton's membership number I see

  • There was a time when the Platinum Reserve had no annual fee..but I went with the Platinum edge (Face palm).

    • that sucks, the best part of Reserve is the $400 travel credit on top of $450 of Plat

  • Its high time..we got an Australian Express

  • +1

Works, but pro tip - workplaces (mine does at least) will give you free trial status for gold or potentially higher. You can then contact Hilton / Accor / Marriott to merge the accounts and you will get that status extended for a year instead of a month or so. I have Accor plus gold until the end of the year as well as Hilton via this method.

    • Actually, it seems that I got Hilton honours gold status straight away, but that was because I got it via my platinum card, not one of the cards listed here. My method still applies to Accor plus though - I have gold for a year instead of silver because I merged a workplace gold 3 month trial account with my yearly complimentary Accor plus silver from Amex.

    • How did your workplace provide this?

      • +1

it is a common one for many workplaces, Hilton partner with a lot of the bigger enterprises, basically they just want to encourage the company to book more with them by throwing a few freebies to staff.

      • +1

Meanwhile my company limits to $200/night so i believe Hilton can’t get in touch 🤣

  • +1

Suggest OP updates the content to include benefits that actually differ from the standard free membership level. It amazes me how places continue to advertise free wifi as a benefit.

Mine is coming up as Hilton Honors Gold Status - thanks OP!

  • From these cards listed above, which one is recommended folks? On Platinum Edge now and looking to upgrade or churn but couldn’t find any good deal this early period

    • +1

If you travel much, platinum is the best option. It is expensive (1450 annual fee) but the perks are really good and would be worth it over time
But if you just travel once or twice a year, explorer would be good enough. The annual fee is $395 which you will get back in the form of travel credits.

      Hope this helps!

  • Not validate for my CPA gold…

any love for amex velocity platinum?

  • Great find, thx!!

  • is there any fast track to Gold promo for visa card like previously?

  • What to fill in on the membership number upon clicking the enrol button ?
I'm new to the amex membershio and I don't seem to find a number anywhere from the app to the card

    • +1

It’s the hilton membership number which you will get after creating hilton honors account.

  • Status matched Accor to Gold and saw barely any benefits…

    • +1

Accor Platinum is where the real benefit is

      • Link to Qatar Airways too for Qatar gold (if it's still running?)

        • Fast track Accor Platinum to Qatar Gold.

          • @nightelves: Yeah that's the one

I used it for Qatar Platinum, first time in first class lounge. Has been good fun.

It gives a year from when you fly too (to activate it); doesn't expire when your Accor does.

            • @Dyl: Wow how did you get Accor Diamond?! Was it hard?

              • @nightelves: Weird housing situation, it added up pretty quickly. It's something like $15,000 you have to spend.

                • @Dyl: Yeah way too expensive for me.

                  • @nightelves: For me too, but circumstances happened lol

It was mainly $100/night cheap hotels, just a lot of them

    • New to this sorry. Can you please explain what do we mean by status matched and how to do it?

      • +1

https://statusmatcher.com/ has everything you need to know.

Usually they'll offer a challenge these days (stay x nights in x days) to match you status to another loyalty program.

        • Thankyou

          • @sam0041: The current best offer is Qatar status matching Accor via an easy challenge, you link your Qatar account and get one status below Accor as Qatar (ie Accor Platinum = Qatar gold) when you next fly Qatar. It's unique as it's Hotel > Flights status

Most other status challenges suck. Some airlines do status matches without challenges but rarely.

Singapore offered me a status match for my Qatar on the basis of having a flight with them within the next 90 days, they're the easiest / best challenges as it's pretty straight forward - just show you're going to use it.
