You want 900w+ to crush ice properly

    • I have the 900w one (professional series) and as much as it can crush ice, it damaged the blades (pro model has better blades and same ones for a few series). Thus, ninja may not be the way for crushing ice.

      • +5

Have been using a Nutrininja 900w (consumer) for about 6 years now. Has no problem with ice. The nutribullet equivalent is rubbish (basically this one).

        • Yep I’ve got the 1200w Ninja TB401 and it’s the best blender I’ve ever had. It turns ice into snow

          • @punkel: Strange, I have the BL450 and I can see it uses the same blade as yours. Day 1 the blade got damaged and I didn't believe the shop would take it back. So, for 4 years, I avoided ice and finally bought a new knockoff blade from amazon (I don't do ice from trama) when the bearing must have failed.

            • +2

@samkenny: I never used ice in mine (at most once, but don't even recall if I ever did that) and I had to replace the blades so many times I gave up.

Mann & Noble who sold the spare parts tried to say that blades are a "wearable component" and not covered under warranty. Really I think it's their main earner and they could give away the blenders to sell the dodgy parts as they don't last and require people to keep buying them.

I avoid both Ninja products and Mann & Noble like the plaque since then.

Interestingly I left a 1 star review on their blades, which can't be found now when I click on the link and it almost looks like they may have removed all reviews on those spare parts.

        • agree NINJA blenders is better than nutriBullet from what i gathered too. easy to get these 2 brands mixed up

    • +1

is there blunt blade just for crushing ice?

  • Lessgo first purchase for 2025 as well

  • Would this be suitably powered for protein+frozen fruits smoothies?

    • Not frozen very well. Need 900+

  • Gr8 price - one passe'd . see if they ship it out.

  • Got ozbargained quick enough

  • Thanks got one free onepass delivery

  • Got one thanks

  • Thanks OP

  • +1

Solid price but note it’s the 600W version and not the 900W with more grunt sold in some stores.

Will be fine with most ingredients though (eg. not good with crushing ice).

    • wont ice damage the inside of the plastic blending cups?

  • +1

    Nice one op grabbed one

    • +2

Did you also buy a nutribullet?

  • -7

    600w is trash.

  • Looks like both colours are now OOS online

  • Saw very few available @ Fairfield NSW earlier today if anyone’s interested

  • Hm so it's really not capable of crushing ice?

Is that a few ice cubes or a full cup.

    • -1

Won’t crush any ice at all. Better to spend an extra 20 and get a decent wattage and not this junk

    • +4

I just watched a few videos from TikTok and the 600 is fine to crush a few ices, not full cup though

    • +3

My no-name-brand-knock-off-era-fad-bullet-blender (~$30) circa 20 years ago at 300 watt had no problem crushing ice and making Boost Juice redundant.

      • +1

Yep, mine is the kambrook one and no issues, for a while I was just chucking in equal parts ice and juice and it was like a juice slurpee

        • i also have a 300w kambrook that was orange in design bakc then. https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/kambrook-blitz2go
the main inconvenience i had now is cleaning the blade lid and blackened plastic rubbing on the rotator connection doesnt seem hygienic//microplastic.

actually it also doesnt blend consistently because of the bottle shape or underpowered ithink

    • A few cubes. The best way I can describe it is that you probably won't be able to change the consistency of your smoothie with ice in the same way can with a 900+ model as the ice would likely be melted by the time you're done blending. If you put frozen bananas in your smoothies, you'll need to freeze them in slices or 1/4 chunks.

  • Ordered sand coloured for delivery

Interesting, I still have a george foreman blend n go from like 10 years ago and I always put ice in my smoothies even though it's only 300W. Seems to crush it fine. Also OOS when I click on the links.

    • That's what I'm upgrading from too.

Just had a look and it's from 2014!

      • +1

Mines still going strong haha. I must say, a pretty good $40 investment lol.

  • -1

Seems to be just half price and not that great unless you don't have a blender already

    • -2

buyers remorse kiddies negging you for telling the truth. just more landfill trash

  • Great find OP.

I've had a NutriBullet 600W for two years( one blend per day - fruits - no ice) and had to replace the extractor blades as it was oozing out rusty colour liquid from the bottom. After a few more months the unit itself would start smoking after each use. I had to throw it away and brought the 900w model as it was the best value at the time. Would i still recommend the 600w unit? yes i would.

    • +2

would start smoking after each use.

Sounds like MrS Paint. Bloody filthy habit.

    • +2

Would i still recommend the 600w unit? yes i would.

      Sadistically?

  • +1

    Nutri Ninja > Nutribullet

    • +3

The original, 600-watt NutriBullet wasn’t as efficient at blending frozen fruit or kale as its 900-watt sibling, our top pick. Spend the extra $20 or so for the Pro.

      • Have the 900 and it mills grain as well as anything on the market, does everything it does in seconds.

    Order cancelled 😔

  • +1

    order cancelled last night

  • +1

Order just got cancelled. Knew it would, their stock levels are always so inaccurate

  • Cancelled

  • I like this series as very little else mills grain well (there's a Bosch unit for $300 aprox, hard to get here as it was designed and marketed for the Indian market)

    the things to know are

Don't! run for more than a minute, they burn out if you do and they do things soo! quickly you're not achieving anything if you do! read the instructions.

Leave it turned off at the wall when inserting the blender attachment, and make sure they align, if it's hard to get in, the peaks and troughs of each side have not settled in and the thing will struggle and overheat and possibly be damaged, only turn on once it's connected properly or the couplings can wear out much faster and are a hassle to replace until you are used to the procedure.

  • +1

i replaced my old 300W with a 1000W NINJA and it's deafeningly loud compared to the former… ARE blenders meant to be this loud?
(if you stand next to it while it's running over 10secs at a time youll notice momentary hearing loss in the ear)
such a shame cos it's a highly recommended model and i like everything else about it (colour, bottle shape) except the noise. wish they had weaker ones in the same design; or equivalent to the 600w posted here

contemplating to downgrade something lower but still able to crush decent amount of ice…

    • The Ninja BL480D Nutri 1000 Watt Auto-IQ was the loudest blender we tested in 2022—the pitch was high and whiny, and it growled loudly like a lawnmower. It also struggled with blending chunkier mixtures, and it walked on the counter while blending pesto. It has a larger footprint than our pick as well.

From the link I posted above. That's why they recommended the Nutribullet 900W over the Ninja

    I really want a Vitamix.

  • order cancelled. Just waste of time.
Like in US, hope that some day some brave person will sue these crappy time wasters.lol. Wasting people time with their crappy system which allows accepting order even they don't have stock. Maybe to inflate sales! They could even use chatgpt coder to check if they have stock or not. lol.
And no apology for their vault. US business would have issues some vouchers.
I know bargain hunters may not like this comment, but that day will come. Mayeb. lol.

  • Cancelled now too. Kmart are terrible when it comes to clearance items and availability. I get they’re clearance, but surely it isn’t that hard to take off the online listing and say in-store only.

One of many Kmart orders placed this Boxing Day season they just got cancelled

Kmart doesn’t want us to make a smoothie whilst wearing havaianas and matching Christmas jumpers as we play board games
