      That's a different product…

  • You can get the white one here for $266 delivered - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=91481

was even less 2 weeks ago when they had a 40% off code in addition to the VAT removal - http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/gopro-hero-3-white-edition-1…

White edition has a 5 megapixel sensor and is far inferior to the Silver edition which has an 11 megapixel sensor

People always comment on GoPro deals saying 'Hey the white one is cheaper'. If you don't know the product don't try and beat down the deal.

      • I think the problem is that previously there was only 1 model of GoPro in difference packages.

Now that they've changed that, most people who are not aware will assume that it's the same camera but with different/less accessories.

The title only "speaks for itself" if all the readers know what a "GoPro HERO3" is.

  • Free postage is only to US addresses. To Australia an extra $10.97 or $35.97 (priority).

…which makes it about $310 US which is about $299 AUD delivered…

The white is different to the silver guys

    • The only main difference is the MP and FPS burst isn't it? 5 as opposed to 11. Depends what you need it for I suppose, might be worth paying that extra $30 if you need to take pics of some kind of quick stunt with as many shots as possible..

      • +1

That's a significant difference. The white has a $100 less rrp but yeah choice is always good.

        • Fair enough. Well its a good deal then if that's what you need.

  • I'll wait for Kogan to get the black back in for $349+

    • same here.
but do you remember if the kongan's are grey imported? can i still claim gst at the airport?

      • -1

Grey Import = No GST = No TRS

        • Grey import does not mean no GST. It just means that it is not Australian stock. So you can still claim at airport.

        • Re Dlite:
          incorrect

        • dup

        • My reply related to the specific Kogan item. It is HK Direct Shipping which no GST is payable if the shipped cost is under AUD$1000 when it lands in Australia.

If you spend >$1000 in one shipment you will get hit GST (+10%) beofre you take recipt of the goods.

        • If the item is a grey import, most of the time it is billed from overseas address. that means no GST added to the bill.

As there is no GST, you cannot claim it back.

    • Given that Kogan cancelled so many, perhaps most/all, of the orders on that 'deal' waiting for them may not be worth it.

  • $299 here too http://www.mpgear.com/item/CHDHN-301/GoPro/HD-HERO3-Silver-E… and you get a bonus FREE 16GB MicoSD Card.

    • I see they are taking pre orders on the Hero3 Black motorsports / adventure and surf editions @ $399US, $58 for postage kills the deal unfortunately

  • Are these really only good for sports etc

No good for filming home vids of baby, pets etc?

I don't know much about them sorry. Guessing no zoom

    • +1

No zoom, the lens is wide angle, getting towards fish eye. They are aimed at sports etc, and don't have a screen as standard, so not really the best for filming babies and pets unless you want to strap the camera on them.

      • extreme baby crawling.. I think you just invented a new youtube fad.
