The booger finger.
I change between different fingers, but use the apple magic mouse which is more of a touch pad
Just use whichever suits you to get the job done :-)
unless there are injuries that can occur using certain finger combinations over long term, its not good re training your fingers because majority says so…
I reckon the answer depends on hand and mouse size as well.
I have larger hands and the mouse I use in the office (Logitech M720) is a tad too small to comfortably rest my middle finger on the scroll wheel, so I end up using my index to scroll instead. But at home I have a larger mouse (Logitech MX Master 3) which I will usually middle-finger scroll with.
I don't get the age thing.
I've been using computers since before the first mouse was sold, and I use middle."using computers since before the first mouse was sold"
bragging about time travelling
.
Index finger for left click and scroll and middle finger for right click. Never knew that others are using the middle finger for scroll. Good to know, might try different way and see the best way for me (not a gamer). Thanks for the poll.
I hadn't thought about it until now, but I seem to be a bit of an oddity:
Index for left click, then middle finger moves between right click and scroll.Surely that makes more sense though - you're doing more left clicking than right clicking, so left should have a dedicated clicker?
Chin for me.
Next post: do you use shift or caps lock to make a capital letter? Apparently the younger gen use caps lock as nobody taught them the shift button…
i don't use either
why bother

Index, middle finger, ring finger, leaves 3 of my most used mouse buttons available to be pressed as needed.
Similar to driving a car, left foot for clutch, right heel for brake right toes for accelerate
