Best Value Office / Study Monitor

Hi all

Reached the stage where I have been looking for some time for a deal and just given up.
Willing to pay RRP now lol.

Want a monitor for office / study (don't need any gaming features as I don't game)

Preferences:
~ $ 400-650
~ Used to a single 38 inch ultrawide - ideally (but probably not realistic at that price) would like something similiar but can also consider dual monitor setup

Just unsure what to buy as so many options out there

Thanks in advance!

Can't go wrong with dell for work imo - I'm sure there are other better value options but I've always had toyota-like experiences with dell monitors.

    • Thank you so much for the reply!
How concerned do I need to be that its a VA panel?
Almost every reply I see on any monitor degrades a VA panel.

Sorry I'm glad you clarified, I sent you the wrong model, should have been this one: https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-34-curved-monitor-p3424…
I've definitely found IPS to be significantly better for work.

        • Thank you again :) This has been very helpful and saved me hours of searching! Really appreciate it.

          • @fd9: Worth keeping an eye out for a refurb sale as well. I bought the p3424web version (same but has a webcam and better mics/audio) for $550 earlier this year. Still has a 3 year warranty and mine looked like new.

  • If you want a bit more screen real estate, the Kogan 40" 5k2k (wide 4k) is currently discounted down to $599 with free shipping.

I made a small review video when I bought a unit earlier this year

  • I have the Dell 4K ultrawide 100hz at work and it's great. I'm a snob though and can't stand 60hz monitors any more.

  • A few more thing to consider. Are you Windows or MacOS? The operating systems aren't optimised for the same display resolution and handle scaling differently. IPS vs VA? Depends on your use case. Ultrawide? My employer handed them out to the C-Suite, found they weren't that great for productivity so they soon vanished.
