Came across this deal for a dining table (chairs not included)

        Looks like junk even before reading that thread.

        If anyone wants to save money, go buy some lightly used hardwood furniture from marketplace. Better for the environment and will last a lifetime.

            @Nalar: Fairly easy with a chemical stripper, sanding blocks, and a good quality brush and stain.

      I had to shop for a dining table recently, and honestly it's an absolute shitshow.

      Average prices for a bloody dining table in almost all non-Ikea stores was ~$800. Chairs are about ~$100-$150 each.

      This post is still terrible value, though.

    you can get some really nice tables on facebook markets for that price that looks a lot more premium (2-3k RRP). i wouldn't wish MDF on my worst enemy

    Looks like a rrp $300 table tbf. Absurd full asking price.

    Stopped buying Amart stuff a long time ago and their furniture still looks the same (cheaply made).

    I just set it up. Decent solid table. Good size, well packaged and quick delivery. Hard to find an extendable table this large for less than 1000.
