  • Good price, can't go wrong with Bloodyrippa boxes, got 2x12 and 2x6 (one empty). Not buying any more haha.

    • 2x6 (one empty)

That means you'll buy more watches then ;-)

      • Ha I'd like to think I don't need or want 36 watches.
The 12 spot was to replace a 6, but hardly worth selling the 6 box I guess.

A one in one out policy is good but it's hard to worry about some of the cheap ones and G-Shocks though.

I bought this box last time when it was $47.99. Its a nice box looking box, good size and the fake carbon fiber (vinyl) is a nice finish.

But be warned, I ripped the hinge and screw right out by applying too much pressure on the opened lid. It is only a thin MDF wood with the wrong kind of screws, so there isn't a lot for it to bite in to. I ended up having to remove the screws and put a small bit of epoxy in each hole to put it back together.

Just use how they are intended and I think they are more than fine for the price.

      • It was being used as intended…

        • "applying too much pressure on an opened lid" doesn't sound like it, so it was all the way open and pushed it back beyond the hinge angle?

          • +2

@G-rig: The issue is the weight due to bottom drawer, the screws are so poor they hardly have any bite and just is not secure. Ideally this needed longer and possibly thicker screws so the hinge that holds that lid isn't fragile. It's shockingly poor quality.

            • @zxcvb: Ahh sorry I haven't tried the 24 boxes, only 12 and 6 spot boxes which are fine.

Anyway Amazon returns are great and not everyone want's to spend hundreds on watch boxes. Mine have all been fine, obviously you should have no issues with the 6 spot box.

You could try these instead (still Chinese brand and maybe similar issues):

@G-rig: Thanks. I'm kinda done with these cheap poorly glued vinyl wrapped badly fastened boxes. They all are of similar quality with fancy names at this price point. I guess you'll need to spend good coin on well made boxes.

I'm planning to purchase an aluminium box with glass lid on sale from ali when on sale. Something like this:
                https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006704546094.html

                • @zxcvb: Yeah I get it, if I had 6 or even 12 expensive pieces I'd be tempted to get one good quality boxes. Most people on here aren't going to run out and spend a heap on a Wolf or whatever if the watches aren't worth a heap.

Ps. That AliExpress box is Only US$10, should be cheap enough, can't say the quality would be any better either but maybe the design is better.

                  • @G-rig: True, guess it's aluminium so maybe gives some hope of quality despite looking hideous and an eye sore. Guess it doesn't matter as much if I'm the only one looking and using it.

I had the exact same experience, the hinges and the screws just came out the second day, with the dust from whatever material is made of. Was disappointed, luckily Amazon issued a refund on returning it. Beware of the quality of the box, it's cheap stuff for sure.

    • I reckon you could still swing for an Amazon refund

WOLF Windsor 10-Piece Watch Box, Brown/Orange - Features 10 Watch Compartments & Vegan Leather Exterior https://a.co/d/9PbgBC0

      • +1

Looks like Wolf have rectified the issue of the hinge screws ripping out by incorporating a strip of fabric along the the base/ lid joint which prevents the lid opening past 95-100 degrees.
I think the problem/ design fault with this Bloodyrippoff box lid and why it is so easy to break is the makers haven't put a limiting strap like this one has (on the left side) that stops the lid opening too far- https://www.amazon.com.au/Readaeer-Leather-Organizer-Display…

Might be an easy fix for this watchbox just to glue a strip of black material to the side and lid.

  • Looks like there is a reason why it is going 'cheap.'.
