Wasn't this $1039 on eBay a while ago?

    • Yes

$911 but they didnt honour it. seems like i was the only one that left bad feedback though so i think the others accepted there shitty offer or had it fullfilled

    Cheaper on Bambulab's official site

  • +5

$1,249.00 AUD on Bambulab site (+$50 shipping), can confirm it does have an international transaction fee for credit cards too (Qantas).
Great printer, grabbed one for Christmas and love it already. It truly is plug and play, huge upgrade from my Ender 3 v2.

  • they got a new one coming in Q1?

    • +5

if your not printing for a living you probably cant justify/afford it sadly.

  • Is this a good first machine? will this print a nice finish? is the "ink" expensive for this machine ? my son wants me to print him some toys… is this a good machine for it ?

    • +6

      idk mine just prints money

    • +2

If you are new you would be way better off buying something much cheaper. Even something like the new Sovol SV06 Ace - https://www.sovol3d.com/products/sovol-sv06-ace for $259 USD.

Or just straight out buy the toys, or send designs you want to a 3d print service.

$1349 is a lot if you don't know what you're doing. You can buy a few toys with that.

If you're fine with the price, then this is a very good first machine. As in, little to none stuffing around to get good prints.

But I don't know if you're messing around, because you could buy a boatload of toys for the cost of this printer.

      • so what are people usually using this printer for ?

        • +1

All kinds of stuff. Google the various 3D model sites - makerworld.com to be Bambu Lab specific.

I'm just saying that the cost of the printer and accessories, and time you put into it… Just go to Toy World if you are after kids toys.

Using it to print toys you could otherwise buy is a bit pointless. It will generally cost more (from filament), won't be worth your time, and your result won't be as good. Many of the more complex designs you see online will be quite challenging to print, need to be printed in many parts, or generally just be a pain.

Where it excels is outside of these cases - printing custom things you couldn't otherwise find or printing your own designs. For example I use mine to print board game inserts which usually retail for $50-100 and which mostly require assembly anyway. When printing I can choose what I want from several available designs (or make my own but I haven't needed to do that) and it probably costs $6-10 for the filament. Because I only print in white and am happy to tinker I bought a much cheaper machine (although I'm quite jealous of this one).

So what I'm getting at is look honestly at your use case. The novelty of printing random rubbish off thingiverse gets old pretty quickly.

          • @Ezuku: Come here to say this, I just need to convince my wife to let me get this printer. Already won Creality Cr-10

      • So true. Or just get a $180 ender and test the waters.

        • Yeah, that's what I did, cheaper Ender 3 V3 SE as an intro to printing to see if we get the use out of it.

Figure at that price I can sell it on to someone else starting out and not lose much and upgrade later if I want to.

I highly recommend the Ender, it's easy to get started with.

  • Still want one but don’t know what I’ll do with it

    • Take a look through https://makerworld.com and see if there's anything you'd like and there's your answer

This is a great machine/combo, but most people would be better off with an A1 (with AMS) for a fair chunk less money. Unless you really love tinkering and learning 3D printing esoterica, ignore the Ender 3(whatever variant) option.

Went A1 + AMS from last posted deal, been a great ootb printer for a lot less of an entrance price. Only a couple of taller models the bedslinger has failed on that I am still learning from.

Gridfinity has taken over the print queue though.
