Looking For: Discounted Category Choice Groceries Gift Cards from Health Insurers

Hi everyone,

I used to purchase grocery gift cards at a discount through nib, but recently I noticed they’re no longer available. It seems like Groceries gift cards are disappearing, so I’m wondering if this is happening with other health insurance providers as well.

I read on a wiki that HCF Thank You and Australian Unity Wellplan Rewards still offer this benefit. Does anyone here currently use these? If so, I’d greatly appreciate it if you could share the purchase limits and discount rates.

  I just logged into HCF Thank You, and it is currently selling Category Choice Groceries gift cards at a 3% discount. There is a purchase limit of $1000 per week.

  I cannot speak for Australian Unity Wellplan Rewards, as I do not have access to that.

  I use Aus Unity Health (Wellplan Rewards). They have:
  - Category Choice Groceries gift cards at a 4% discount;
  - Coles gift cards at a 4% discount, with a purchase limit of $500 per member, per week; and
  - Woolworths Supermarket eGift cards at a 4% discount and Everyday WISH eGift Cards at a 3% discount.

  Aus Unity - repeat / frequent purchases triggers a fraud alert and blocks your account so it's hard to tell exactly what the actual purchase limit is.

    The same is true for HCF Thank You.

    I managed to temporarily lock my account today when I tried to make a $250 purchase. Considering I did the same yesterday and the day before using different cards as payment methods, I think I pushed things too far!

  I would not be staying with NIB, HCF or any other health fund for discounted gift cards. You will save much more by churning through health fund promotional offers.
