This isn't a repeat. Ghostrunner 2 was never offered free on Epic until today.

That was the original Ghostrunner. This here today is Ghostrunner 2 which is the sequel.
for me personally this is the biggest game given this year and the most hype
The gameplay is so brutal but satisfying, maybe it's the soundtrack?
Game shows up as free but I can't check out - keeps timing out on load your order.

over the years I got first version of Ghostrunner on a few platforms for free
played it maybe once or twice, maybe reached 3rd or 4th scene and gave up lol
Was playing the tutorial, but honestly doesn’t feel great to play so far.
I only launched it to test the RT, but honestly, I just don’t GAF about first-person games other than Minecraft.
I did like the new Indiana Jones game, though.
i don't even think i played the first one but it seems i have the first one too lol.

Some time ago, I remember watching a YouTube video explaining that the cost of making a game was rising whereas the price was staying constant or decreasing. They made the point that if the trend continues, games will become free altogether as they fight for your playtime.
I can’t find that obscure presentation anymore, but seeing this game being freely given out reminded me of it.
I mean, they’re right. Pretty much the most popular games streamed online right now (with maybe the exception of Minecraft and GTA5/Online) are free to play, with microtransactions, battle passes and regular missions designed to encourage replayability and parting with your wallet.
But there’s also Roblox, which is a game platform that kids can’t get enough of.

I’m blown away by how good the gameplay trailer looks. Been spending a lot of time on my Meta Quest 3 and while it beats PC (read:wired PCVR) in major ways because wireless and passthrough, the Quest native graphics are really like a potato compared to this. I mean everyone knows that because the Quest is basically a high powered android phone costing a fraction of a good graphics card, but this gameplay trailer really hit it home for me.
Great game mechanics I reckon, just too fast for me sometimes! Lol
