Love this sprinkled on some yogurt with a drizzle of honey. Delicious

    • I know some people do that with dried mealworms… not the casting tho… I wouldn't recommend itπŸ˜‚!

  • Noob question - for live mealworms do they populate themselves once in the soil? Like if I want to add some livelihood in a pot?

    • They are not typically grown in soil, the usual medium is wheat bran/oats. But yes, given sufficient care they will reproduce.

Shipping to Victoria is expensive. Ordering two 15kg bags exceeds $150.

    • Thanks for the feedback! I will look into and revise the shipping rates and get back to you ASAPπŸ™.

We have brought down the shipping rates using Sendle now πŸ™

  • $79 shipping to Melbourne for the 15 kg order….

    • Shipping rates should be more reasonable now (should be around $29 for metro) πŸ™ sorry for the mess up

      • Thanks for fixing that up. Got a 15kg bag! :)

        • Thank you for your support!!

  • How does this compare with the typical fertiliser you get from Bunnings such as chicken/cow manure?

Is it just as effective? Does this smell? If sprinkled on flower beds will it get blown away, does it need to be mixed in with the soil?

    • Great questions! Yes there are some research showing that mealworm frass are just as, if not more, effective as chicken manure (e.g. https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsagscitech.2c00217, https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-61765-x). Plus it does not contain harsh chemicals or heavy metals.

      They are very much odourless.

The natural form of frass is quite light (sand like), so water in well once you have applied them. Best results are well mixed with soil for sure!

      • Thanks will buy a 15kg bag to try out!

        • Thanks for the support mate!

          • @ben4jinsgrowth: @ben4jinsgrowth thanks I got my castings. Do these have a best before date? Didn't realise 15kg was so much in volume. It's going to last me at least a year. And is it best I leave it stored in the plastic bags you shipped them in? Will it clump up from humidity?

            • @r33tom: Yes 15kg it about 50L! Store them away from moisture and direct sunlight and you will be fine!

  • Hi, is there a code? Prices are higher than what's mentioned in the post.

    • Hey jtb sorry set the end date of the deal by mistake., but I am happy to honour you with the previous price. I have sent you a message about it.
