  If I’m not mistaken though you can get this with education discount from Apple for $2543.20
  Which still trumps the gift card by about $130.

    You are mistaken though, this deal is for the M4 Pro chip (12/16) not the M4 chip (10/10), there is quite a substantial difference in the cpus.

    Though I would argue anyone who got deals on apple gift cards in the last couple months would be better off waiting till early January for the back to school promo (likely being another gift card or airpods). Especially if you're wanting to get the nano texture display (custom order from Apple only)
