  • Wish they had to put the ah on them. These be much better than the varta ones at bunhings which are like $12 for a 30 pack.

How do the Amazon branded ones compare? Much better deal and good reviews.

    • 100 is too much for me.

      • sell the rest :)

    • My understanding is that quality has maybe dropped with these, my last post of these has some comments about them draining quickly.

Given the price maybe it's still worth a shot.

    • Previous reviews says itโ€™s very bad

    • These Energizer batteries cant be more than twice as good as Amazon. Will stick with Amazon

  • Thanks needed more. Merry Christmas Hiphopopotamus

Thanks buddy. At first I thought 30 was overkill as I mainly use rechargeables but great for sharing with my parents who would struggle to maintain rechargeables (esp the Eneloop Pros that drop 10% of their charge a year).

    Merry Christmas!

This is exactly the sort of thing that s destroying the planet. Cheap throw-away single-use batteries. They aren't really a bargain.

In a perfect world, sure. In reality though, some devices just don't like rechargeable aa/aaa batteries, and these Energizers are probably the best alkalines available.

      • +1

Would you care to elaborate on which devices? Genuinely curious

        • +2

I set up a weather station that recommends not using rechargeables. Not sure the reason why, but it was in the user manual for it.

@cashews: Thanks. Never too old to learn ๐Ÿ˜

            • @corky: I have always ignored that instruction not to use rechargeables and have never had any issues.

The coffee scales I use daily immediately come to mind. They take 2 aaa batteries, and if I use Eneloops fresh off the charger, they go for maybe 2 weeks before I have low battery warnings and the scales automatically turning off on me while I'm in the middle of measuring. Use even the cheapest Anko batteries though, and they'll last for years.

I ended up soldering a 1.8v to 3.3v voltage booster I bought for like $1 off AliExpress instead, so now they work fine with my Eneloops. But the average consumer isn't going to do that, so alkalines are the only option.

@freddy93: Gee how bizarre. Wonder why. Thanks for reply

        • I have a small electronic kitchen scale that died yesterday. Tried a few sets of AAA eneloops 1.25 volts but still showed battery low even though they were fully charged. Put in energizers 1.5 volt and worked.
Otherwise i agree with you. I'm using 20 year old energizers for everything else.

    • You farting what about that ?

    This guy knows.

TL;DR - These batteries performed well.

They were $11.80 this time last year, 14% price rise. Inflation sucks.
