Was looking for rechargeable batteries and charger for my Quest 3 controllers and came across this charger with a 57% discount.

I think the only downside is it’s not a fast charger and takes 10 hours to charge the batteries

Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months

  • Painfully slow, but good price.

      Second this. Too slow.

If you have spare eneloops in the cupboard its not such a big deal using an overnight charger

From what I've just read these are "dumb" chargers that charges for a set time and switches off (10 hours). This is not desirable for the longevity of your batteries. Especially true for the official OzB currency: Eneloops.

    • Can confirm this is a dumb charger. I was dissapointed after i purchased a few months ago.
Keen for recommendations for a decetly priced smart charger for eneloops please.

the IKEA Stenkol (smart) battery charger is $10. There’s no screen or anything but it’ll charge 1-4 AA or AAA batteries. It’s not a fast charger as far as I know though

        • That's correct, it's good if you're charging fully depleted batteries as it's output current is a constant 245mAh per channel

  • Anyone knows of a good charger? I have the BQ-CC51 and takes a long time to charge.

Saw some people recommend Nitecore chargers
      or Xtar from aliexpress

      • +3

        Also recommend Nitecore or Xtar.

        • I bought a Nitecore D4 a few years back on special, excellent charger, differnet modes, battery info e.g. capacity, charges different battery types etc, well worth it.

Just watch out for counterfeit units, it was an issue a few years back and I assume it's still an issue now. Buy from a reputable seller and avoid deals that are too good to be true.

I have the BQ-CC55 and it's pretty fast (hour or so)

  • No batteries included…

    • You don't say

Way better to buy a smart charger from Aliexpress. This is just landfill.

Bought a Litto Kala usb charger for $20. Charges exactly as you need or 0 to full in about 3-4 hours.

      Got a link 🙃

This is the charger that's poorly rated by charger boffins. The one that is better rated has the light indicator strip go across the whole thing.

  • +1

Ikea charger does better than this.

  • This is a dumb charger and anybody who buys this is dumb.

There are many Xtar,Liitokaala and Nitecore chargers which are smart and not too expensive and can also run on usb and can charge Lithium ion batteries as well.

This is crap do not buy it

Timer Cut: Recharges for a preset time, even if battery is full.

It's a dumb charger that works purely on a timer. If you place a partially charged cell into it, it will be overcharged every time. And reduce the overall life span of your expensive Eneloops.

Nobody should post 'deals' to garbage, battery-damaging chargers like this.

  • I need batteries not charger and it's not on sale! Arrgh. Found this though and bought them https://amzn.asia/d/dVFA1th

  • Please don't buy it. I got one of these for free with a kit (at that time it was cheaper than buying the batteries) - gave it away after trying it once.

Panasonic has smart variants (I have one) but Chinese brands like LiitoKala and Xtar has good chargers with more features for cheaper.

I keep going back to my LiitoKala Lii-500 (very old now) for charging eventhough I have some Xtar and Panasonic ones.

  • Cann someone actually link a charger which is smart. Tganks

Get the IKEA one for $10. It’s smarter and faster.

  • Once you get a smart charger you won't want to go back. I just bought an XTAR VC4 Plus, it's awesome. It even has a feature to discharge, then fully charge the batteries to tell you their remaining total capacity. I was able to find a few complete dud batteries by doing this.

  • Does anyone know which one of these smart chargers comes with its own power supply? Or they all require you to purchase a separate adapter?
