20km range… this would have me think twice even at the price. When I had a cheap Segway the range was about 30km and realistically it did about 10-15km.

However, if it’s just to go around the suburb… might be a cheap way to try out escooting and upgrade later on.

Maybe also a good one for the teenagers to play with… they won’t get far :D

    • **Range: tested while riding with a full battery, 75kg (165lbs) load, at the speed of 15km/h on pavement.

    • I agree, it's likely around 20km for the 10km/h mode with a very light person. I am hoping to get a good 10kms of range out of this :D

For $200 it’s still pretty good.

Also don’t leave charging when you’re not home or asleep. Even on my $1000 scooter I’m mindful of battery fires

        • Thanks for the tip! Would a PowerPoint timer or a smart PowerPoint help prevent this? Or do these fires typically happen randomly, or only when the battery is overcharging?

6Ah battery, so like 200W for 1 hr. 20km is realistic at 15km/h.

Aside from being a toy, I reckon this will be great for to & from the train station at busy times when you can't take an e-bike.
Easy to throw in the car too.

    15 degree max climb lol

    • +2

Yet again confirming my predjudice that anyone who puts "lol" in a post is talking out of their a^Hhat.
That is like the steepest road in Perth. Are you in Hobart?

        Your post contains "lol"

        • +1

          LOL!

      • yes 15° climb on a single motor scooter with no rider would still a LOL.

    puncture-proof tyres

lol. nothing is puncture proof. not much credibility

    • +7

solid plasticky rubber is puncture-proof. it's just marketing terminology.

      • Ah I guess… I didn't even consider solid rubber, my bad

        • it's like how 'vegan leather' sounds more enticing than 'plastic fake leather'.

Solid tyres make for a very rough ride on your average footpath, and the wheels have no provision for valves, so you can't fix it.

Also scooter is quite small, would not recommend for the taller man.
No front brake, (except regenerative?) good for novices to stop them flying over the handlebars, but it does mean poor stopping distance. You don't want to be going fast on these, even if you could.

Seems to be a clone of the Xiaomi M365. Easy to get parts. Can upgrade the battery if you feel the need. And probably not hard to removed the speed governor to get maybe 30km/h, should you not value your skin.

yeah honestly at 36v, these things may crack 30kmh with a mild tailwind at 100% charge. otherwise they will be around 20-25kmh on level ground and maybe 15kmh up a slight hill if you're lucky. Great for a quick 2km ride to the shops or train station, but don't buy if you're wanting a speedy and enjoyable commute beyond that.

and yep, solid tyres generally suck. pneumatic tyres with a bit of sealant added in are much better. i've been riding air tyres with sealant for 2000km and yet to have a flat.

      • An eggboi lawyering lawyerz

  • Thanks OP, got 2 for the kids for Christmas.

Bought one for 300 a while back. Battery is a bit shit and it's weak as (profanity) uphill.

But for 200 I'll buy again and return the original. 300 I couldn't advise, but 200, (profanity) it, well worth it

    • What a (profanity) frustratingly (profanity) sentence to read.

  • Got one this afternoon. It's pretty good kids are having fun with it. Have ordered another one so they can race around

  • bought one. good for the price

  • This or save up for something a little better? e.g Segway F40

  • FUAAAAAA….I bought it for $300 from last deal one OnePass….

    • Buy this one, return that on collection.

      I did.

      • did they accepted an open, without the box scooter?

        • +1

Buy a new one and return it with your old docket?

  • What is the app called?

Order cancelled by Target as they have no stock. This is pretty poor form for them.

    • Not sure why the neg for my comment but order was placed as click and collect on 25th Dec for collection at the local store. Status changed to delayed at 10am on 26th Dec and order cancelled by Target subsequently at around 10:40am as they have no stock / sold out before they honoured their online orders.

  • I bought one of these earlier today. It's been charging for a couple hours and charger has turned from red to green light but i haven't been able to turn it on. Did i buy a lemon?…

    • +7

lol you kick to start it. It’s a safety thing. The trick is to kick with your leg once and then hop on and turn the accelerator slowly and it’ll go. It only works if it’s moving so it doesn’t cause accidents.

      • +2

thanks i left it charging overnight and gave your advice a go just now and it does actually turn on. saved me a trip from target, legend!

  • You can connect it to the Tuya app if you want to change settings to the scooter.

Anyone know how to speed hack these? asking for a friend ;)

    • Any luck finding out if you can speed hack these?

Plenty of stock in Qld. Just pickup two. If one store out of stock, do another order for other locations. They don't redirect order if OFS.

  • Looks like it won't deliver if there is no stock in a store near you. Even with one pass.

    • +1

Even with stock at my nearest Target, Onepass delivery not available…

  • Picked one up yesterday from Target Buranda. They're out the back and they had a couple left. Easy to assemble, our Tuya app (used for other stuff) immediately connected. Charger and scooter both have CE certification so unlikely to have battery fire issues.

TL;DR? Works well, $199 this is a bargain.

    Got one, can recommend
Im putting 110kgs on it and it still moves me.
Just keep to flat roads and youre good haha

  • In store only

  • Anyone in Melbourne change their mind and wanna sell?

    • I returned one (unopened) to Target Chadstone a few days ago. You could give them a call to see what they did with it.

They sliced open the tape to check whether the scooter was still in there, but I dont know if they tape it back up and put it back out on the floor, or send it back somewhere for checking / as a faulty.

      • Back to full price

        • +1

          Damn!

(Unfortunate they didnt post a few days earlier, and I would have still had it!)
