Whats the difference between this and the 'deluxe' version? Worth the 'upgrade' (if any)?

    • The bucket doesnt shave plastic and decenter as much on the deluxe

      • shave plastic…

        Jeez

      • I've been looking into this for a while now, a simple cheap band-aid fix would be to have some 1mm thick stainless steel coasters made to fit into the bottom of the containers as a shield. Kinda surprised no one sells anything like that yet.

        • Thats not a fix thats creating metal shavings instead

          • @Fysh: Its a band-aid fix, better than plastic shavings.
How quick do you recon there will be metal shavings, geez

    • bigger pints and more functions on the deluxe

why would you blent the ingredients AFTER freezing as opposed to blending WHILE freezing?

    • You make a base flavour, eg vanilla, times how many you want to store in the freezer (eg 6)

Then after freezing, and when you're ready to eat, you pick the add ins you feel like on the day. Eg nothing, Oreos, nuts, Milo, etc, etc.

No need to freeze the add ins

It's what a lot of the professional kitchens do. The machine is called a pacojet. When the patent for that expired, Ninja developed the Creami for the home market.

According to the blurb, it produces smaller ice crystals when you spin it after frozen, as opposed to spinning it while being frozen. Smaller ice crystals feel smoother on the tongue and makes it feel creamier.

ATL… Atlanta (Braves), Authority To Leave, Animal Therapies LTD., Across The Line, Above The Law, At The Least? What one? Thanks.

  • When the slushy version out?

  • amazon one is better, because that includes 3 x 470mL tubs

  • Thanks for sharing! Has anyone had good experience with this machine and no ‘plastic shaving’? I’m keen to give it a go but trying to gauge how often this issue occurs? (There’s a fair few threads on reddit outlining this issue, but then it also seems to be well liked??).

ive had mine for a year - no issues whatsoever…except we run out of icecream too often lol. i purchased 3rd party spare tubs from amazon. all work fine
gelato recipe is great but obviously harder to make. standard base choch / vanilla recipe is good too (better than most supermarket icecream).

have been experimenting with the sorbet. still havent nailed down the recipe yet as mine comes out dry and crumbly …but it tastes good.

      • Awesome!! Thanks heaps, I’ll give it a go then! Can you remember which extra tubs you purchased by any chance?

  • Now comes up at $188 without a price check?

Yep! I picked one up in store earlier today and used a $30 sms credit to bring the total down to $158.
