My GP Used ChatGPT

So I drove my Tiida https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/884440 with new Continential Tires/Tyres https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/885417 to visit my GP. While waiting, I noticed their computer had a ChatGPT tab open in their browser.

Should I be concerned that my doctor might be relying on AI for medical advice?

Would love to hear your thoughts - especially if you’ve spotted this at your GP’s office too!

  • My go used a computer car and phone booohhooooo

  • If it's not a simple cold/flu You really need to use GP as a tool to get some tests or to refer you to a specialist, nothing more.

  • I've had a GP use google once to confirm diagnosis of a symptoms. The difference between me being a Google doctor VS GP using Google as at least they have training, knowledge, experience and hopefully discernment to know what they're reading is true/factual.

  • A GP has the training to decide for themselves if it's reliable. I have no problems with them using it to assist in their profession.

  • Unless its a procedure/surgery; Doctor consultation could be a profession soon on chopping block for replacement by AI.
