Hubbl Glass UHD TV: 55" $591 ($804 off), 65" $691 ($904 off) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Harvey Norman

100

Harvey Norman has some deep discounts on Hubbl Glass - the 55" is $800 off and the 65" is $900 off.

I've got 2 of the 55" I brought on sale. One at $1100 and one at $600. I'm actually pretty happy with both of them as they are pretty good, especially for my wife whos not an audiophile – she just wants to turn on the TV and see her current obsession she's binging.

of course, keep in mind yesterday's announcement of the sale of Foxtel and Hubbl to DAZN, but the TV does have a few hdmi Inputs and an antenna port. with a few button presses you can go the inputs and use it without the Hubbl interface

keep in mind yesterday's announcement of the sale of Foxtel and Hubbl to DAZN

    Oh yeah, forgot that.

I'll wait til they're cleared for a hundred a pop then.

    • +2

      LOL you'll be waiting forever…

      • This is the 2nd time OP has posted at around this price so the next steep discount round won't be far off.

        • You think they're going to go from $591 and $691 to '100 a pop?'

          LOL

        • +2

i don't think they will go much cheaper to be honest.

they are decent TV's at this price point. at $1400? nah too many competitors and the exclusive deal for HN to sell them just means they are not out there.

If anything, i expect them to drop somewhat permantly to around this price point and be made more widely available.

          • @Tejas57: Who makes the TV's for them?

            • @JuryWheel: i actully don't know and its not mentioned in the documentation

            • @JuryWheel: They are rebranded Sky Glass TVs, apparently the OEM for Sky is "TP Vision", the same OEM that makes Philips TVs.

          • +2

@Tejas57: Agree - they'll run them at this price or maybe a little lower even to clear them out. Expecting them to sell them for $100 is just delusional

          • +1

@Tejas57: Its still more expensive than cheap tvs and people will relate these to cheap no name tvs. I bet they will be $200-300 soon.

          • -1

@Tejas57: That's because you're subconsciously trying to justify your purchase, it's just your bodies defence mechanism to prevent too much regret from overpaying

  • I'm going to create an alert for HUBBL because the fire sale will be ridiculous on these suckers once DAZN starts consolidating digital platforms.

    Next price drop guys

    $199 for 55" and $299 for 65"

Don't ask who my source is

    • +1

      Yep ive heard similar

    • Please don't leave me hanging……

    • +3

Don't ask who my source is

It will be Bill Gates at a World Economic Forum TEDtalk in Davos next month.

  • +3

Sorry to hear you paid $1100 for a 55in one of these

    • i'm actually not - it was brought back in july when the first around of smaller discounts came out and i'm quite happy with it

      • The reviews seem to show the screen is dim - is that your experience?

        • +1

Its been fine for me. i don't have a device to measure the nits but going by eye its perfectly acceptance and watchable

  • These things are heavy! 30 and 37 kg. Wow.

    • +6

It's all the extra weight from the surprise and disappointment of the marketing team that Hubbl is so meh.

      • +4

I thought they all contained a little Hamish that randomly pops out to annoy you

  • This would be a great TV to plug a chromecast into and not connect the TV to wifi just use it as a display with built in soundbar. Built in soundbar is a huge plus.

    • it needs to be online at a minimum to be activated

      • then cya internet

  • These seen to have decent sound sustenance built in. This self negate the need for a sound bar? And the screen is a qled? And so these are rebranded sky tv? With dazn buying out foxtel i think we will see less Australian content and more foreign.
Is only time before the seven and nine network are sold to overseas like the ten network that was bought by paramount.
I feel that eventually all our tv will be via pay tv and free to air won't exist, as the advertising model is last century and can't compete.

    • yeah look for my needs its pretty good. ive got 2 and the soundbar is fine and works and the screen is apparently qled and it looks fine. not much stuttering, ghosting or tearing.

  • +1

    Is this built by NASA?

  • You could just use this a as normal tv via hdmi input right? No silly requirements for it to be connected to a server for that to function?

    • +1

just need it connected to a server to activate the tv. once activated you can disconnect the web from it and just pick the inputs

      • +1

Perfect, got a spare Apple TV ready to go for it. TY

  • This or a TCL C655 (55") for a few hundred dollars more? Just want to replace a back room tv for Plex, PS4 and Switch. Does this have an app store or well I need to use my Firestick?

    • +1

no app store on the hubbl

      • Maybe I'll just go the TCL then. Thanks
