Great travel routers, perfect for those airbnbs with horrendous reception from budget ISP-provided routers

  • Worthwhile upgrade over the older beryl, mine kept corrupting the sd card and extended filesystem.

Run tailscale and connect via exit node at home like you never left your house.

Please can you share more info on how to configure the exit node / link with tailscale?

Fantastic little routers. Currently OS and have the mango and opal with me, to keep the family online easily. Plug in, run the app and set the connection and everyone is done.
(The mango only needs a 1A usb port, sometimes very handy!)

for those crazy line me, this can run an externally powered ssd and card reader, copy photos from one to the other, and act as a dlna direct play media source

lots of ssh and linuxing required

  • upgraded to this from a mango, massive speed and reliability boost through a remote site wifi. Runs wireguard to connect back home through Pihole/pivpn/duckdns and have it named the same as my home wifi AP and password, seamless when travelling with family.

Used my 6yo Mango yesterday with a 4g USB modem as we had a power outage from 8am-3pm due to scheduled maintenance.

Ran off a 10,000mah Power bank and still 45% battery left once the power was back
