Anyone Has Experience with Myer Marketplace Warranty?

I have a Treadmill, but it broke down. It is still under the manufacturer warranty.

Call up today and ask for claiming warranty, the lady seems not helpful and gave me myerone email address to report the issue……

Does anyone have experience with Myer Marketplace before? How should I claim the warranty in this instance? I call up the manufacturer this morning and was redirected to Myer……

      Somewhere in Germany apparently

  • You probably called a 3rd party call centre. They are not helpful because they can't really help you.

Send them an email and see what happens.

    • I email them too, but same answer

    https://myersupplier.myer.com.au/documents/Myer%20Marketplac…

Customers will contact the Myer Customer Service team with any online purchase
    enquiries.
These enquiries will be sent to your Customer Service department to be resolved.

Going through that pdf, it looks like you contact Myer and they'll pass you through to the supplier

  • Thank you @spackbace
    I have a look

  • I have a Treadmill

Why didn't you pick it up from Marketplace for free?

    I have a Treadmill.

lady seems not helpful and gave me myerone email address.

call up the manufacturer this morning and was redirected to Myer.

Seems like they're giving you the runaround, so you won't need a treadmill anymore.

  • The purchase was from Myer and therefore your "contract" is with them and they are responsible for resolving any warranty issues.

    • Doubt it… plenty of marketplaces like Kogan where they will pass you onto the actual company that sold it.

Doubt all you like, but the ACCC states:

"Businesses are responsible for resolving problems with products they sell to consumers. Businesses must not tell consumers to go to the manufacturer for a remedy. However, for some consumer guarantees, consumers can choose to seek a remedy from the manufacturer, rather than the business they bought the product from."

        • Yeap you can copy ACCC but again they are a market place they didnt sell it…. they facilitated the transaction so the onus is with the company selling the products on that marketplace, the likes of Kogan, Bunnings all say the same thing on their markeplaces….

If you have a problem with your order, please contact the Trusted Seller by clicking on the Contact Seller link in your order confirmation email or via the Order History page when you log into your Bunnings account.

            @solidussnake: Oh boy!
The manufacturer sells the product to the retailer and the retailer sells the product to the consumer. The retailer may say what they like, but the consumer law rules.
Exceptions to the above is where the retailer explicitly acts on an agency basis, e.g. Miele and Mercedes Benz. In such cases the retailer is only acting as an agent for the manufacturer. If you buy a Miele product you will see the sales invoice is actually printed on Miele stationery - not the retailer..

            • @Ocker: Are you not getting what a marketplace is, Bunnings doesnt actually hold the stock its sent from the companies that sell through the marketplace like a dropshipper. Im going to stop because you dont seem to get the concept of marketplaces.

Thats like saying Facebook should be liable becuase a company sold something faulty.
