What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of any Apple products.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards and/or use of gift cards for payment.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • A $40 cashback cap applies per MyDeal transaction.
  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.

Good to know

  • Ensure you disable plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole & VPNs prior to clicking/tapping from TopCashback as they will prevent your order from tracking.
  • If you cancel / return / exchange / modify your completed order, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.

What to do and when

  • Missing cashback claims must be lodged within 100 days of purchase.

What’s the best way to tell which category a product is in?

    • +1

Their product categories are random and open to interpretation their end.
I got burned by this before

    • +1

@theSav Here's a rough guide. For example, 'Electronics' category with 5% cashback covers several types of items.

  • Waiting for TopCashBack to get acquainted with BWS

    • They used to be

      Edit - they still are

      • Yer I know but wanting 20-30%

        • Use the highest cashback guarantee when SB or CR do the 20-30% rate

  • Now I just need one of those upsized referee bonus and 100% cashback offers to create a TCB account.

    • It has never allowed this kind of stacking from the beginning.

      • There’s nothing to stack. I was referring to previous offers of capped 100% cashback on Amazon for new members I’ve seen here in the past.

        • As Neoika said, if you checked the terms in those 100% cashback posts for new members, you were not allowed to stack with upsized referral bonus. I posted some of those offers here. No stacking with referral bonus was clearly stated in the terms and mentioned in the posts.

@trixieb: Ah, thanks for clarifying. Would still be good to get either 100% cashback or upsized referral with this MyDeal offer.

  • Not bad if you need an ice maker
    https://www.mydeal.com.au/devanti-ice-maker-machine-12kg-sil…

Every price is around $110, but here it's 105 (95 with voucher). After cashback, that's about $80

    • They will probably decide that it is 'electronics' and give 5% - they did this to me with a solar controller that was in 'Tools and Equipment'

      • According to their category list, the ice maker would be under 'Appliances' and your solar controller would be in 'Tools and Equipment'.

That seems deceptive for them to change the solar controller to 'Electronics' and pay 5% cashback. Did you try to dispute this?

        • Yes I did and I was give a small % increase as a 'bonus' but not the 40% that made the item worth buying

          • +1

            @King Tightarse: That's disappointing.

            • @trixieb: What I was was told was specifically:

"…Looking at them however, I'd say they were electronics purely because they appear to be electronics items, irrespective of what the categories state
The only way you can resolve this is to reach out to them and ask, or alternatively cancel the order"

So people need to take care with apparent good % deals at My Deal. Their categories are open to their own unpredictable interpretation

              • @King Tightarse: It's a good hint then to cancel the order when they track at 5% cashback instead of the upsized cashback.

I wonder which cashback rate would be paid in my previous Cashrewards post when there was a tracking discrepancy. I found the item type in 'Electronics' category but it is also listed in another category. Cashrewards changed the tracking amount to the higher rate but MyDeal hasn't paid the cashback yet.

                • @trixieb: Yes it is really hard to predict. I think it comes down to the decision of operators at MyDeal.
                  I was also told:
"MyDeal calls the shots and whatever they report to us is what they deem to be correct"

      • Was looking at air fryers, suppose they fall under electronics too?

Can stack with $10 boxing day code or new sign up?

        • +3

Air fryers are under 'Appliances' according to the website. Can stack with code ROUND1 for $10 off $75+. It's the only code listed at TCB.

You will find out which category MyDeal will pay when it tracks. I would suggest cancelling the order (if possible) if it tracks at 5% cashback - 'Electronics' category.

            @trixieb: Thanks mate

          • +1

@trixieb: Cashback tracked already at 20%, great.

I only got a cheap one (Philips 1000 series AF 4.2L). I like the basic ones without all the electronics and it's got one task. Got to replace a similar sunbeam AFP4000BK which is excellent although the basket needs replacing and the part is like $70. Nothing from AliExpress really suited for a bodge job.

If it didn't track then it's the same price at big W and everywhere else. The $10 code just pays for the shipping.

  • Is it concerning that the cashback still hasn't tracked after a couple of days?

    • Based on comments on OzB, MyDeal cashback usually tracks within a few hours.

Unfortunately if still no tracking after 7 days from purchase, you would lodge a missing cashback claim.

Regarding tracking, here are some tips:

      From the rep tightarse:

For tracking success, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave, close additional browser tabs, and don't click away to other sites looking for codes etc after clicking from TopCashbackAU as tracking will be lost. TopCashbackAU must be the very last click/tap prior to purchase. Try our iOS/Android mobile app for improved tracking results. Use our Help Centre & Contact form here for any questions, issues, or claims.

Hi. Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here.)
