was showing as $49.99 last week
And that’s the usual price
The Non-Prime Member price is $49.99.
I got one of these, they are alright. I use them for work.
The app is very easy to customise the text/ resize - but that’s about it.
Labels are kinda pricey and got drm

Nothing wrong with the quality but Niimbot uses RFID tags on their rolls and purposely cripples the output for other brands so you'll be locked in.
DRM labels. Prints at 10% power with generic labels.
Noticed this after my post… can you please link the generic labels?
Or are you saying you cannot use generic labels because it doesn't send enough power?
You can use generic labels. But it prints at 10% power which renders it unreadable.
It’s very anti-consumer and these kinds of products should be avoided.
Found my old post re the Niimbot B1 and you can see the output difference. They were both the same generic label, one tricking the machine into thinking it was genuine. It's pretty dirty of them.
Just cancel the order and look for something else. Plenty of generic thermal printers out there, especially on AliExpress.
In the end I gave up on the B1, sold it and got a larger Phomemo M221 instead which doesn't use RFID (just means you also need to specify which label you are using, can't autodetect.)
Also, if you want to save labels in Niimbot software you're forced to create an account, which you don't have to do with Phomemos software. The M221 (and some other models) also has desktop software (connecting by USB)
thanks for this
I bought this and was super excited.
Then I realised how god damned expensive the 'proprietary' label refills are. I can't believe I let myself get sucked in.
Please tell me there is a generic refill available that suits this label maker???
Is there a generic alternative to the Niimbot that is just as good without the DRM???
If you want something similar size to this there is the Phomemo D30 for $32.99
As far as I'm aware none of theirs use DRM (my M221 doesn't)
Their own labels seem a bit better priced than Niimbot anyway, usually get 3 rolls for less than 1 Niimbot one.
Comes up as $37.99 for me. And that’s the usual price
