Arizona sunshine 2 was really good.

    • Looks like a fun game. Did you play the first on Quest and if so, any good compared to the second?

      • No didn't play first one because of the bad reviews, I did play the remake after 2 and it was good too, not as good as 2. Playing on Quest 2 using virtual desktop

    • yeah I have pretty much all these games on steam VR. Not a fan of keeping many oculus games on headset.

      • More asking about the Oculus versions rather than Steam (PC or via Cable) versions or are they the same other than better graphics on PC?

        • PC has a wireless function with most quest headsets, you can do this via the oculus app or virtual desktop.

the graphics are alot better also on PC and you can record game play alot better in wide screen. Also a bigger library of VR games on PC. Even more if you count all the VR modes you can do on most flat screen games.

          • @kungfuman: Wireless (or via cable) still requires a gaming type of PC with a decent(ish) graphics card (not to mention decent WiFi if via it) so not an option for myself unfortunately.

            • -1

@Borg: yeah well you know the VR world started on a PC right? the setups used to cost 1000s to get started on. Now you could get away with 2k for the vr and pc setup to have a decent VR PC setup.

              • @kungfuman: ……Now you could get away with 2k. True, but that's still a lot of money for a casual game here and there.
Oculus headset is enough for me and an Xbox or PS. Less fuss.

        • Unless your PC is connected via a wired ethernet cable and you have a strong 5Ghz wifi signal to your Meta Quest dont recommend it

          • @Freestyle: thats why you have a dedicated access point just for the quest 3 over wifi 6 using the AV1 codec its as fast or faster than wired.

  • Any good games recommendations?

link OP provided is excellent. You can view and filter in many ways including showing all the games that are in excess of 4.5 Stars. And you'll see discounted only + high rating. Great way to see what stuff you might like.

    • Depends what you like and what headset you got

I like battle talent, blade and sorcery, Les mills body combat, beat sabre, pistol whip, super hot and in death

      Tempted to also get

      Light brigade
      Vendetta forever

Pistol whip is by far my favourite game. Exercise, shooting, music. Even has had quite generous free dlc / updates released., content has basically tripled since release.

Asgard's wraith 2 is on sale, haven't seen that on discount before.

      • Sale for Asgards Wrath 2? So many of us got it bundled when we purchased the device but next level down, personally couldn't imagine anyone not getting on Quest+ when the deals have been in for a yearly membership. Asgards Wrath 2 is on there for "free".

        • Thanks for drawing my attention to that, but I'm really not a fan of subscription service. Although with software as a service I suppose it's not like I'm going to eternally have access to it either.

          • @Ezuku: yeah I hear you. The thing that made it worth it was the price for the yearly pass was great with a $38 credit thrown in to spend on games. The stuff they have on there I find it's pretty much always great. A blockbuster game today will be free in a year on Meta Quest+ often so it's a matter of playing that balance. Here's what I currently have vai Meta Quest+..

        • If someone in family has it already on there quest can I play it on mine through them? I’m sure something was mentioned it’s possible or am I just imagining things?
It’s $59 still expensive price has it been less?

      • Asgard is "on sale " for $60 - no thanks.

Pistol whip is one of my favs - gets a good workout

        • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Asgard has been on sale before, so unless you got it for free with the quest 3 or quest plus this is an atl.

    • re4

    • I enjoyed The Climb when it was included with +, so I'm about to purchase The Climb 2 (which is half price).

I also have my eye on Real VR Fishing, X-Fitness, and djay (which I've dreamed about since I bought turntables like 20 years ago).

  • +1

Some of the prices have since gone up

  • I'm new to VR, but I've enjoyed Pistol Whip, Zombie Headshot, Asgards Wrath 2, Synth Riders and the Vader Immortal series.

Half Life Alyx is excellent, but that's on Steam…

    • I also purchased 'Thrill of the fight' in this sale and it's pretty fun for 10 bucks.

  • Hey all, i havent bought quest 3 yet but planning to in near future.
Any cons of signing up to meta store account and buy games now?

    • No cons, but Meta has been running sales pretty much every month.
The one for Back Friday was almost as good and that was just a few weeks ago.

The promotional credit, doubled to $94 is only once a year around Christmas.

If you value getting $47 of extra credit, I'd get the Quest 3 this month. (use the referral links above)

      • Thanks for letting me know about referral credit. Almost forgot!
Are you saying better wait until around Xmas time to see if the referral credit is doubled ?

        • Already is doubled to $94 as noted here and runs till 31 Dec.

          • @Borg: Would you expect any further discounts on the quest 3 for boxing day? I don't think there's any besides the general discount that's already happened.

            • +1

              @Ezuku: No idea, I'm not a mystic :-)

          • @Borg: Can I activate the account without having access to the device first?
I am going overseas tomorrow and back after the new year ie after the end of deal on 31 dec.

            • @OzFrugie: No as you use the code against the device when registering it.

            • @OzFrugie: Your OZbargain membership should be revoked immediately! /s

You're telling us you've also missed the opportunity to get GST back!
As well as experiencing cinema in the air.
Puzzle games like Tetris or Puzzling Place are also ideal for long plane journeys. (Thrill of the Fight, not so much, unless you want to be famous on Tiktok)

              • @ChrisFrenchy: haha yeah I didnt think of that! but it will be bulky though. bit of hassle bringing it along with me although I will miss ~$80 ..
will probably look funny using it on the plane lol

                • @OzFrugie: The box it comes in is very small. I traveled with the original box on my first O/S trip.
I since got a proper case that I use as 2nd carry on.
Apple made it not acceptable but cool wear a VR headset in public.

                  • @ChrisFrenchy: Do you need to bring the box to claim trs btw?

                    • +1

@OzFrugie: Nah. But it was the most secure way to carry it on my first O/S trip without a proper case. Not something you can throw in a backpack with other things without risking damaging it.

          • @Borg: How long does it take to get referrals myself and son will be new owners of quest 3 and want to get this I can’t remember the procedure when we open or gifts at Xmas what’s the steps in getting this again.
Myself and son both have meta accounts just not actived headsets yet

  • Powerbeats vr I know it’s still on sale but can it be had for less? Is there codes or a referral link that lets you get for less or is currently sale best it is
