This is the highest quality whisky in the world. Every true boffin knows that.
yikes!!
It's true. I read in the Qantas inflight magazine.
This is the highest quality whisky in the world.
Agreed, but the double black still tastes better.
Man I've known some impressively functioning drinkers that swear by Dr Walker's Amber restorative (not my joke)
Tiger whisky from vietnam is cheaper but not 12 years old and the possibility of methanol in it doesnt make for a fair comparison at this price.
Yawn
It's that time of the day for me too.
Does DM price match Costco? This was $59.49/L in Costco the other day. Works out to $41.64/700ml
Does DM price match Costco?
Doubt it…
Not the same 'shopping method'
DM factor in costco membership which costs money … deals need to be for general public members.
No, they don't price match Costco.
So Costco was selling JW Black 1 litre for just $59.49? Sorry I missed that.
Got a link?
Was $37 before. C'mon Dan.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/771915Was a great deal nearly 2 years ago!
There's at least $28 excise on it, and I think this has increased since 2 years ago, so its going to be difficult to price match the older price.
Living in SA or VIC kind of kills the deal though. No one wants to live there.
Lives on the Meth Coast, lol.
It's almost like CPI is a thing which forces up the prices on alcohol… There's been 3 excise hikes since this deal lol.
Yep. Beer and spirits excise taxes are adjusted twice a year and indexed to the consumer price index – so they roughly track with inflation. As inflation took off due to the pandemic, the alcohol excise did too - rising over 17%.
And that evil Elon Musk killed off the market for used DeLoreans too. So sadly no going back.
I really cannot. lol
We need a discount 1 litre of Jameson Dan!Combine with:
I expected that to be a link to rimming salts.
Edit window expired so here's the reference https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/373978
Still no big WW group cashback offers
@Coles
700ml X 2 + 1L x 1
$62 X 2 + $79 - $60 = $143
Until today
I think it's cheaper at Colesplz explain the maths.. ouch head hurts
30% off $200 spend at coles.
Goal is to spend as little over $200.So 2x 700ml bottle + 1x 1L bottle
Means $203 before disc & $143 after disc, $59.58/L
This deal is $64.14/L
Darn it. Just bought a bottle with the members only in store price… The normal $54.95
I feel your pain.
The way the Woolworths owned Dan Murphy often have online-only price for members that is sometimes a lot less than the in-store price for members really ticks me off. And a scam in my view.
Which is why I always check the DM app when buying wine, spirits or cases of beer in store, just in case. Then if I see that lower online price I get the check out person to 'price match' their own price. It's a scam that mightily ticks off their checkout assistants too who often bear the brunt of angry customers being caught out.
Asking for a price match from the store you're standing in is a bizarre feeling for sure. I'm surprised it's legal to offer 2 (or on some products up to 3) different prices depending on your method of purchase.
Yep is bizarre. And imho unethical. But definitely legal under our competition policy as long as the reason for the difference is clearly stated from my understanding.
Something that should be referred to the Consumer Advocate organisation Choice.com.au for them to shine a spotlight on I think. Would add to the list of unethical practices of the two major supermarket chains that they are currently getting a lot of adverse attention.
And btw - my observation is they only do this when they spot a large competitor like Costco or First Choice offering a limited time price cut on their website for a product. They know that those who see the offer will check other retailer websites to see if they can get it for a similar price elsewhere but they limit any hit to their profitability by only offering the price online. Something made worse by the fact that Costco is not allowed by law to sell alcohol in store in some states (SA for example) and so delivery is the only option.
Definite anti competitive behaviour in my view, but not a breach of Australian Competition Law.
Expired? $49.95.
$53 members price now for me in store. Save $1.95 woohoo…
