How do you check which stores have stock?

  • +1

Have one of these as a work phone.

Love the size but not use to the apple system and as such, it's been living in my desk draw for a couple of years now.

Dual Sim apparently. Sim plus esim on the box

  • Why not get a motorola instead? The g84 has got oled screen and lots more phone for the buck.

169 is a terrific deal. Too bad it's 260 now and at this price it's not that great for a refurbished phones.

    • 169 starts tomorrow.

  • Will this be a hot in demand sale like Aldi stuff that you need to be at a store at opening to grab one (I’m assuming the service desk thing is where they sell them)? Or can just add one to cart online and checkout at midnight? Does Coles online charge postage or free click and collect? (I’m usually a Woolies person !)

    • Last time they had an iPhone XR deal the only way to get one was to phone around nearby Coles supermarkets to ask if they had stock, then purchase over the counter. Every order I placed for pickup got cancelled because there was no stock at the time of picking. Not sure if anything will have changed.

    • Considering these were $169 less than a month ago, I doubt these will sell like hotcakes. Also, battery life on these are terrible.

This would be perfect for a kid's first phone, mitigating the financial risk of breakage/loss.

  • Tempted if only for youtube premium and sonic dream team . though not sure how well it would run a 2023 game?

  • Any recommended places to get refurbished iPhone 15 Max?

    • 15 Pro Max? How much are you thinking and what colour, storage & grading do you prefer?

      • Yeah 15 Pro Max. Doesn’t have to be “as new”. 255GB storage. Black or Titanium.

“refurb” products at Coles? Since when do they sell second goods? Do they even have a second hand dealing / pawnbroking licence?

This is tacky and gross. I can’t imagine whatever they’re making off this is worth the brand value hit. Australian consumers expect products to be brand new from major retailers. This is such bad practice for Coles.

For those with Flybuys, check if you have any offers in the app. I got a 10% off over 50 spend for next two days.

  • I think it’s alright.

Mine in an iPhone 11 from 2019 and still going well, so is there a difference in quality battery or otherwise from this?

Might get it for my dad who leaves his current phone at home or switched off. Perfect lol

Can’t see the price update. What time is it?

  • Still the original price. What has gone wrong?

  • Price updated. C&C to save on shipping. Not sure if my local Coles has the phone lol.

    • Update: This is a courtesy notification that your Coles online order has been cancelled.

Looks my local Coles has none of this phone? No reason given lol.

      • Update2: 2nd C&C order got cancelled. Again no reason given.

        • Update3: Change the store and got ready to collect message. Ok.

  • Does it come with iOS 18.2 already installed? If not, what iOS does it come as (for jailbreak purposes)?

  • Can you use Coles gift cards to buy a mobile phone?

    • Why not? You can save 10-20%.

Use code “FESTIVE” online for $15 off $170 (need to add something worth $1 to the cart)

  • I Ordered online for Free Rapid Delivery after signing up to Coles Plus (1 Month Trial). All up cost after using the FESTIVE code was 155.50… (Thanks to @dammit) … Waiting for Phone :-)

    • Phone received. 89% battery. No discernible marks. Product Red edition 😄

      • Mine 85%, no marks, but missing sim tray. Black edition

  • I picked up one from my local this morning. It comes in a Boost branded box. Cosmetically condition is excellent. Battery is coming up as 100% - not sure if it is new or doesn't have enough usage data to give an accurate reading.

    • i wouldn't trust that. i've replaced battery (third party) myself before. it shows 100%, but battery life is still not good. better than my orginal @82%, surely worse than 90%.

Got one. Mine is white. Not sure if they came in different colours. Running iOS 17.1.1, model A2296. Came with a generic plug and random usb lightning charging cable.

Under battery health- maximum capacity 92%. Is that decent?

    • Anything over 80% is acceptable, I'd be delighted with 92%

Pretty sure some staff are hiding the stock.

Coles Clayton Centre Road: They don't send iPhones to small store like ours.

Coles Clayton Cooke St: A store that's less than half the size of the Centre Road store across the carpark. Had to go to the office to find the two…both black, was after a red or white.

Coles Oakleigh: Nope, don't have it, it's not in the catalogue. Oh wait are you sure it's not the NSW catalogue that you are looking at? We only have the iPhone 11.

    • Just asked my local store and she checked and said no, usually they only have the locked phones for sale…

  • Picked up the last one from Canberra Centre.

Picked one up, downloaded iOS 18.2 (4.7gb) in 14 mins on NBN 50. Nothing wrong with wifi chip dispute what has been said, even with router 10m away in another room.

Battery health is at 100%?!? YMMV obviously and have my doubts about this figure. It had no charge in battery when I got it so maybe this helped preserve health?

Comes with a small Apple charging brick, a "boost orange" lightning cable that looks new, Sim ejection tool and a boost $2 Sim starter kit. The phone looks near flawless, quite impressed

    • 👍. @ HeWhoKnows is just unnecessarily negging the deal and spamming incorrect comments.

      • Its a fine phone. Nothing wrong with it. I was thinking about getting another if I could get a red one. (Got a white one last year). Didn't manage to find one after 3 stores, probably a good thing, because I am not sure what I would use it for.

      • He probably needs to suffix "not" at the end of username 😂 But he's very passionate about the phone tho lol

Just picked one up and seems to be pretty OK. Is going to the youngest child who has an iPhone 8 that cannot get a newer IOS and cannot run new 1Password app.

Picked up a red one. The screen looks basically new. The case has a few scuff marks, but pretty clean. Once in a case you won't see any of that.
Battery is reporting 84% capacity. Comes with a crappy knock-off Apple wall charger, that is going straight into the bin. Comes in a Boost Mobile box with a $2 SIM card to activate if needed..

I was contemplating upgrading my iPhone SE 2020 to a new iPhone 16 and hand my SE down to the child, but ultimately decided to persevere with mine for another 12 months. It will be supported at least until September next year when IOS 19 will likely hit prime time, and then will likely have another 12 months of usefulness after that. Apps normally support last 2 current IOS releases. The SE 2020 is a great phone and is certainly still very capable.

    • What iOS version did it come with installed?

      • +1

Mine came set up as a Japan region phone (had to look up the menu options to get back to English). iOS version 15.5 immediately requested update to iOS 18.2. Similar otherwise to nanonoise.

Ordered one with a Tuna to get the FESTIVE discount… Got a text saying its ready for pick up, arrived, waited for a while, got my single can of tuna, phone not in stock. Yay

    • +1

Many cans of Tuna was sold on this one fine day. Lol.

      • I opted for a freddo frog

    • Same just got the tuna, no phone, and no charge for either

  • not 5G?

  • Ugh. Had such a good result with the iPhone 8 years ago (battery 99%) that I blindly went again. This one is 83%. Almost half the battery flattened while setting up(<2hrs).

I'll be returning, and not trying this lottery again.

    • Mine is 90% but not as expected from a premium grade. I'd rate this grade B or less based on the battery health. And it's okay for the price.

  • No.
