This game was addicting for a good 30 hours.

Didn't susprise me to learn the developer worked in the gambling industry.

    • +23

They didn't exploit that with microtransactions though, even with the mobile port - unlike alllll the genre clones that flooded the market afterwards

      • +3

I really admire how they've done the DLC - It's all been relatively hefty, but always very cheap. I've bought all the DLC as well as the base game, and it still comes down to a couple of cents per hour of play. Not quite Balatro levels, but still fantastic.

        • I found it cheaper than balatro on a per minute thing. mostly cause I play co op with my kids and it comes around again later.

          • @T Man: true ozbargainer here. Doing the math on a cost per minute play time lol.

    • +17

I know it's technically still correct, but not sure why people write addicting instead of addictive

One part of me wishes I worked in a data centre and could ctrl-h the internet

      • +4

And just when I thought I had fixed all of my grammar mistakes when I switched from "would of" to "would have".

Back to the drawing board I guess.

      • +3

        I could care less mate!

      • +1

It's definitely not correct - but it has become so common in the USA and with many kids these days that it's probably the majority use of the spelling now - which usually in English makes it preferred, or "American English".

Oh well, the world will end soon anyway

        • Iirc the English dictionary said it was correct but CBF checking again

    • I reckon you nailed it, I probably played exactly 30 hours then stopped. I want to check now.

    • Unsusprising sus indeed

  • +3

Possibly the cheapest ever game at full price to go for free on Epic, but if it gets to more people, that's great. Definitely worth playing a few hours to see if it clicks for you.

    • I'm sure some of the older give aways have been $5-10 range.

    • Rockstar Game

It was GTA V a few years ago wasn't it? Could be RDR2

      • +2

Maybe a new port of table tennis to PC. ;)

    • +1

Alan Wake remastered would be nice If it's the case, I hope so.

    • +4

I don't believe free AC Mirage..

      • I got it on the black friday sale it was reduced to $30 which seems to be right in the range of the Epic giveaways so I don't know if I believe it but knowing my luck since I just bought it then it will be true haha

This was a joke/troll list. The YouTubers simply made up a list that looks somewhat believable.

They have done it every year for the past few years to see how far it spreads, and how many people share it without watching more than 1 minute of the video. It's not real, although I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of the picks end up happening.

      • The leaked list last year was legit, only 2 of the games on it were changed but the rest matched up. Not sure if the youtubers have the same source or if as you say it's just BS this time?

        • +2

The list above came from this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1YGIhhWT_c), same channel as linked in the OP.

They make the troll videos as a warning not to trust every leak you see… If you watch the video for more than 1 minute they are very clear about the fact that they just made it up.

I like their channel, but I don't think doing this every year is very funny. Oh well…

And yes, there could be legit leaks again. We'll see soon enough.

    • Are these guesses, or did the list leak somewhere?

      • +1

I can tell you that there won’t be any guesses from the wrappings.

        • +1

Why would someone neg this comment? It's true that every year the games are hinted in the wrappings images / icons

    • +1

      No source?

  • +7

This game is very easy to get into and very hard to get out of.

  • +6

Paid full price for this and don't regret it. Awesome game.

    • Played it for free on Xbox via game pass, but have paid for all DLCs, went on to buy the base game + all DLCs on Steam. Will also add the EPIC version to my collection :P.

I wouldn't say that I'm good at it either, I've mastered the first level, can combine weapons and become a destructive force quickly…

But the other levels I'm pretty lost (have collected the relics on a few), but I don't level up as well.

  • +1

Nice. The yearly Epic Christmas giveaway. 2 weeks of daily free games.

Somehow I missed some of the repeats. So hopefully the list is correct.

    • I don't remember Epic giving a bunch of bigger games. It's usually indie titles so I'm a bit skeptical, esp since there's no sauce.

      • +4

A couple of years ago they gave away the full Tomb Raider trilogy. It crashed Epic for days due to how popular the giveaway was.

        • Ah well, finger's crossed I guess!

        • +1

Full tomb raider trilogy, full batman trilogy, GTA V are probably the biggest giveaways that I can remember.

        • And I still haven't played them 😂

  • +1

Best time killer game when you're flying somewhere

  • +1

It’s pretty addictive and fun for killing time on the train - but I absolutely forgot about it like ten minutes later. One of those games that will never leave my Steam Deck.

The expansions are definitely worth the couple bucks.

  • +1

This is such a good game and even worth it at full price. Glad more people can play it with it being free!

  • Cool. A game to play on those hot days that probably won't turn my room into a sauna.

  • One of the best Indie games out there. It is incredibly deep and you keep coming back to it to explore more options and strategies!

  • +2

"vampire survivors only works because we're stupid"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkVKLPvXBUc

  • I've put a lot of hours into this on PS5. It's nice when I want something mindless to occupy me for half an hour.

  • I've got over 60 hours in this game, and imo it is definitely worth paying the low $7.50 price tag for the base game. So getting it free on Epic is a pretty good deal!

  • This game scratches my OCD and ADHD… Love it…

  • +6

If you're planning for a wedding, do not -I repeat- DO NOT get this game.
Especially if your partner is also into gaming.

    Speaking from personal experience (-‸ლ)

  • +1

I would not have kept my Steam Deck if it didn't work with my EGS library. Amazing!

    • What launcher are you using now for epic?

      • +1

        Junk-store via decky loader

        • Thanks

  • +4

10/10 game for the 2 days straight you might play it. It makes you feel like a bad gamer for the first hour then exponentially feeds you dopamine until the job is done.

  • +5

Bleh, had my reminder come up today because OP set the original start time as US…
Wish reminders for start time got changed when the start time for the deal changes

  • That's epic

  • The number of games I have accumulated on EPIC is probably higher than the number of games they have on Game Pass Ultimate…
I started on 22/2/2019… Crazy it's been almost 6 years.
Is there a way to export the list of games / titles library out of Epic?

    • Sorry i’m on mobile and cant point you to the specific but here’s my general approach

On epic account page, there is a page for transactions you made. I used a browser plugin (table something) to export the table out. Edge might be able to do it natively I believe

Not sure if you can load your mails into a mail client and have some scripting to extract all your games out like that

  • +1

Yeah this is one of the built in games on my Tesla now I can play it on pc now!! Yay love this game

  • own the game and all dlc on steam cause its great but may aswell claim on epic, price is just right

  • Might buy it on Steam for $5.24

  • I feel like the dev fully deserves the money considering how cheap and good the game is, it's only like cup of coffee cost!

  • I played this some months ago…
    I survived the vampire…

…I almost didn’t survive the addiction to write this ;)
