    The best deals for HDDs are on eBay, because enterprises are shedding them and upgrading to SSDs, meaning there’s plenty of supply for budding homelabbers to get their hands on.

      Yeah but a burnt out 3 year old drive really isnt the same thing as a new one with a warranty.

        Likely that drive isn’t even burnt out, they’re just replacing or upgrading because their support cycle has run out.
        They still have plenty of life left in them because they are built to last in demanding environments.
