v poor after-sales at this company
very recent experience on a faulty product

    • Same experience. As soon as they work out you bought via eBay they do not want to help. eBay store was a week late answering a question in regards to my issue. Also they mention a money back guarantee but only want to refund to store credit.

      • Mine isnt even ebay, it was direct.
        Steer clear next time.

  • did both of you above have a issue with the actual product?

because I have the 12Ah in this deal as my second backup powerbank and it does slightly weird stuff but still works just fine many months later.

I already shared this but charging iPad with lightning cable from USB-A, the charge stops at 95% to 98%. that's fine it cuts out when the power transfer gets below certain watts, this is good in a camping or situation with low access to power since the powerpack will turn itself off overnight. using lightning with the USB-C port it charges to 100% and keeps it there how I was expecting.

there is another second higher power USB-A port, same behaviour as the other USB-A it stops 97% (it's different everytime). so what's weird is when this happens with either USB-A port, the port basically stops detecting something next time you plug something in. instead you need to press the button to start the charging. but the ports are still working fine and can charge everytime no problem. just slightly odd.

keep in mind this behaviour is with lightning cables only. and I have heard this happening with other power banks as well.

    • Mine was with a fridge. Bought off eBay. Picked up from local store. Made me wait till everyone in the store was served because it was eBay. Brought back a few days later as advised by eBay. They wouldn't take it back so I had to request a repair order number from eBay. Took it back with that. As soon as they realised eBay again I had to wait about 40 minutes for the 1 out of 8 staff who could help me. I had to leave as still no help. Gave one person my number for them to call Soni could discuss the issue. No call. No response. No help from eBay in regards to issue and no way to contact the store. Drove back up 5 days later. They hadn't even looked at the issue and couldn't advise when it would be resolved. They saud they would call to advise within 48 hours. Got a message a day later from eBay saying go and pick it up. Asked a question back before pickup and no response for about 7 days later. Picked up the fridge. No problems at all they found. Would not accept a refund even though I returned it within a few days. Had to get approval for store credit. Also made me walk out the side door so the counters on the main doors didn't mess up the stores sales ratio.

      • Brought back a few days later as advised by eBay.

that doesn't sound right. I don't shop much on ebay anymore but pretty sure if you bought from ebay you deal with ebay. don't accept anything else.

        • Sorry my mistake. Kings main number asked me to take it in as that is where I picked up from and I also was given the warranty code If they would have told me to send it back I would of just asked for a refund. I struggled to get help from the eBay store so I don't like my chances I would have faired better as response time was up to a week. Glad you had a better experience with kings but that last episode was a let down on all fronts and cost me extra fuel and time driving back and forward numerous times because they dislike the eBay side.

@barblade: Open an INAD or defective return case and do it the eBay way. It'll be much easier and painless refund. Because it's a store pickup doesn't mean you'll have to return it to a store if done over eBay - the Money Back Guarantee still works and they'll have to provide a postage label for a valid return case.

            • @brianmau: Thanks mate. Lesson learnt. I've had a few defective cases with eBay in the last 6 months. Return got stuck at a depot and couldn't be delivered. Got mucked around so hard. 3 and a bit weeks and about 10 plus interactions after sending I finally got my money back. Every time congratulation on being a premium member and your account is 21 years old but doing nothing to help. I really don't trust eBay anymore.

              • @barblade: Been there, done that. However in my case the seller actually Paypal me the return postage and make me buy the label myself, so I got a refund from eBay AND the insurance payout from Auspost lol. Another occasion the address on the provided label was wrong and it got bounced back to me, and I got the eBay refund AND the item because I'm only obliged to post it once. Most other returns that I did went well and yes you do have deal with chat sometimes but at least it's not the people at that shop that sells kings products.

Not sure why these are like 5x times the price of the 10,000mah banks sold on Amazon etc for like $15-$20 ?

Ah is not really meaningful for storage without knowing the voltage. These are 12.8v, so the output is similar to a car cigarette lighter socket.
A metric that does work across different voltages is Watt/hours. This is ~ 154Wh
A typical 10,000 mAh usb charger is 37Wh

and is only like 5v out.
