I just got my car crashed, the driver said he didn't see me. We exchanged driver's licenses.
What should I do?

At the end of the day, taking out insurance is a form of gambling. You’re “betting” that you’re going to crash and “hit it big”. The fact is that just like a casino, most people don’t hit it big or people like Steve Johnston, the CEO of AAMI, wouldn’t be on $6.7 million annually. Think about how huge that number is. It’s more than many people earn in their entire career.
Yes it’s nice to day dream about winning the lottery but most people don’t. If you think the emotional support it gives you is worth the money, then pay it. Most people on OzB are extremely scared of risk so will always pay for insurance.
Thanks, I’m probably going to go TPP. Knowing my luck it won’t be long before you see a post:
Driver did a hit and run, I only have TPP; any suggestions
Or
I wrote off my car, help me find a new one!
Fingers crossed won’t happen thought
It's still not too late to delete this, or delete your account.
what to do?
Take some time out to post on OzB, rather than file a police report or call insurance company.
Maybe post some photos on social media as well, that'll fix it.
OP from SA, the most eccentric drivers are from Qld. It is like a different planet.
so your not at fault?
if so, get there insurance claim number and make sure they lodge the claim. then deal with them direct.
Neither had insurance !
OP needs to get quotes and send them to the other driver. If they don't pay he will need legal advise. Very slim chance of them paying. Just pay for the repairs yourself or drive it how it is.
The OP needs to get insurance or stay off the road.
Where is the dashcam evidence or MS Paint diagram?
It's possible OP has ESL.
-File a police report. often can be done online. Nothing will be done but you just need to get it recorded.
- Write down as much detail of the event including directions ect. this can help to establish fault.
If they are at fault
- Work out how much it will be to fix the problem or how much you are willing to settle the matter for.
- Talk to the other party to get them to pay this. If not you can try to take them to small claims to get paid.
If you are at fault:
- pay them to fix the car. They are entitled to a rental car so that can blow out costs a lot if you mess around so best just to do the right thing.
Best of luck,
Can accident in 2017, no insurance, speeding as well

Be better or stop driving and use public transport.
The driver of your car got it crashed and didn't see you?
I find the lack of M$ Paint diagram to be the most disrespectful thing ever.
Can’t believe that people on the road have no insurance
Get a lawyer and take them to small claims court
Nah, get insurance and stop wasting other people’s time
I'm not sure how much going through insurance, and involving lawyers cost but that is most peoples plan A
As a plan B you could always go to a wreckers, get the part from another car and put it on yourself.
You'd be surprised how affordable and easy it is to do, a quick Youtube video later…
I had a friend who had a small bungle 10 years ago and fixed the front bumper of their car for $100 and 2 hours working out how to install it.
$100 and two hours work.
Call your insurer and let them sort it.

I probably should have worded my post better. I was trying to make the point that my car isn’t exactly worth insuring.
I’m happy to take a gamble on my own driving skills, just not on others.
