Yeah, $250 for an Occular charger, especially a 22kW unit is a pricing error, I would think it would be hard to find a used one for that price. If you made good on it and got one at that price, you made out like a bandit.

Anyway, into pricing for install… this is a “how long is a piece of string” scenario. Everyone’s install is going to be different. Different houses, different mounting, different distance, different allowance for load, some are going to require fuse board upgrades, 3 phase vs single phase installs… so, what might be a $600 install for you may be a $1,600 install for someone else.

    • understand - created the post to share their detail/experience.

    • Would a 22kw charger unit charge at 22kwh per hour meaning charge a 60kwh battery in under 3 hours?

Alsp with the free ev charging deal from energy retailer how do they know/ confirm you have an ev to be eligible for that free ev charging at home? Like do people say they have an ev when they dont? Similar to samsung phone trade in where people just dont send the tradein phone

      • off topic Qs but 1st Q: yes. 2nd Q: check with your energy retailer. many dont check, but some could check.

  • If the device purchased from bunnings is defective, who pays for the de-install, and re-install of the replacement?

if you buy an outdoor lighting and found defective while installing, who pays for de-install, and re-install?
      it's same with everything else

  • The Ocular 22kW charger on Bunnings marketplace, sold by EVSE Australia, is $895. For some reason Bunnings has put the name in the headings as "EVE Australia" but EVSE in the details. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ocular-lte-22kw-w-6m-type-2-cabl…

If you managed to buy one for $250, then that's pretty special.

Interesting - could be potential for some to install + upgrade their home to phase 3 too

once we have enough interest, I can ask series of quotes and options like
      - price difference by under 5m cable run and 5 to 15m cable run
      - 3 phase upgrade (for those who has single)
      - or price by the hour option / half day / options
      etc
and, happy for someone else to share their prices & experience if there are better ones.
