  • I have 3 phases electricity at home. I live in NSW. I know very little about the solar power.
Should I get 13.3KW system, and what brand/system/company is recommended?
    Many thanks for any advises.

    • All depends how much power you use and when, and how much money you’ve got.

If I was you I’d just get a national solar company like Natural Solar or even AGL etc to give you an appropriate solution, but it may not be as much a “bargain” like this appears to be.

      • I don't know how much power I use. Typically I spent about $800 per quarter for electricity. From the internet it seem that I will need a 13.2Kw system. But which brands would be better?

        • I’d just go with a reputable company and let them suggest what you need. Or ask a few for quotes. But keep in mind batteries aren’t cheap enough yet.

The money saving is in having enough panels (and an appropriate inverter). They can explain all this to you in person.

    • 13.3kw system is very big. I doubt you can use that to its full extent.

  • Is offer available to rental properties?

  • how long i need to use them to break even

Too many variables, this calculator will give you some idea.

      https://www.solarquotes.com.au/solar-calculator/

    • a very simple method is to divide the total system cost by how much you pay for electricity annually.

what you might want to factor into the total cost is a replacement inverter and its installation. this is why it's better to go for a inverter brand which offers 10 yr warranty incl. parts + labour and will honour the warranty if your installer goes bust. fronius and sma do that. not sure if sungrow is in the same boat.

during the lifetime of a system the inverter will also need to be replaced at least once outside of the inverter's warranty.

        Yep, i'm doing that too…

To be fair, they probably didn't realise how many questions will be asked. These people want to do a quick sale and get the hell outta there. Shut down company and start a new one.

This mob has been there was 4 years. Some bright spark had nothing to do during COVID and started an energy company in 2020. :)

I was interested until i saw this comment. If the company can't answer any follow up questions. To other points made, we are going to be shit out of luck for support.

I’m sure he has already sorted out his sales. Regardless of all the concerns here, people will still jump in.

  • Don't forget the factor in cost of checkig the inverter at 5 years.

    • (I don't have a solar system) is that expensive?

      • Probably not but I think it's nice to get the same company to do it though.

I am still waiting for an answer from mine…

Looking to install a Solar system very very soon. , It's so hard to compare solar deals, but Genuine question.. Can someone please tell me what's the bargain on this particular deal? Is there a particular thing about this deal that has gained so many votes ?

    Cheers

Good price, and not bottom-of-the-barrel equipment is my guess.

Advice for comparing solar deals: have in mind 1-2 brands of solar panels, and inverters that you're happy with. E.g. Jinko panels, and a GoodWe or Sungrow inverter. Depending on your budget & research, you can gauge which brands are within reach.

Then reach out to 3-5 companies, and get quotes for those hardwares. What you're left with is the ability to compare quotes based on their company reputation, quality of installers, after-sales/warranty service, etc.

It removes the factor of random brand combinations playing around with numbers that makes it hard to tell if you're getting a good deal or not.

The competition is so fierce nowadays that I've had great success sending companies quotes from other companies and asking them to beat the prices.

Has anyone actually had a date provided for installation? I paid a deposit 10 days ago and they still haven't called me to arrange a date.

When I call them, I keep getting referred to the sales person. When I contact the sales person they just say I'll get contacted by installers and can't give me a date.

@AndySolar are you able to advise?

    • -2

Our usual timeframe for installation is 3-4 weeks upon the rebate approval.

Please email me at [email protected], I will look into this for you.

      • I did and no response. I have now been waiting almost three weeks since I was approved for the rebate and still nobody has reached out to me.

  • can you install on an Asbestos roof?

  • What do you mean by the $500 charge for a three-phase meter? Is it necessary to convert to a three-phase meter for a solar installation, or is the process more complicated for a three-phase meter, resulting in the additional cost?

    • +1

The 3-phase inverter is expensive, and installation requires more time.

      • Ok, thanks for the clarification
