@bigpoppa: Many of these ingredients are beneficial for the skin, each serving a different purpose. Here's a breakdown of the key ingredients and their skin benefits:

                                              1. Hydrators & Humectants (Draw Water into the Skin)

Glycerin: A well-known humectant that attracts water to the skin, keeping it hydrated and plump.

Urea: A powerful humectant that increases water retention, smooths rough skin, and has mild exfoliating properties.

Sodium Hyaluronate: A form of hyaluronic acid that penetrates the skin more easily, providing intense hydration and plumping.

Butylene Glycol & Pentylene Glycol: Humectants that draw moisture into the skin and improve product texture.

                                              1. Occlusives (Seal Moisture into the Skin)

Petrolatum: Forms a barrier on the skin to lock in moisture, making it ideal for dry or compromised skin.

Mineral Oil: A lightweight occlusive that prevents water loss and protects the skin barrier.

Stearic Acid: An emollient that softens and smooths the skin while also helping stabilize emulsions.

                                              1. Emollients (Soften and Smooth the Skin)

Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Oil: Contains fatty acids and antioxidants that nourish and soften the skin, with mild anti-inflammatory benefits.

Glyceryl Stearate: Conditions and softens the skin, making it feel smooth and moisturized.

Lanolin Alcohol: Derived from lanolin, it works as an emollient to soften and condition the skin.

                                              1. Skin-Soothing & Anti-Inflammatory Ingredients

Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract: Soothes irritated skin and reduces puffiness due to its antioxidant and cooling properties.

Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) Extract: Contains antioxidants and amino acids that help soothe, moisturize, and protect the skin barrier.

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake: Has antioxidant properties from polyphenols and fatty acids, supporting the skin barrier and reducing inflammation.

                                              1. Supporting & Stabilizing Ingredients

Trisodium EDTA: Prevents metal ions from destabilizing the formula but has no direct skin benefits.

Phenoxyethanol: A preservative that keeps the product fresh but does not offer skin benefits.

Triethanolamine: A pH balancer that can be a potential irritant in high concentrations but does not directly benefit the skin.

Propylene Glycol Dicaprate: An emollient that improves product spreadability and provides a smooth feel on the skin.

                                              1. Ingredients That Are Less Beneficial or Neutral

Water (Aqua): Acts as a solvent to dissolve other ingredients but doesn’t directly benefit the skin.

Yellow 6, Yellow 5, Red 33 (Dyes): Used for color only and have no skincare benefits.

                                              Summary of Key Beneficial Ingredients

Hydration: Glycerin, Urea, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol.

Moisture Barrier: Petrolatum, Mineral Oil, Stearic Acid, Lanolin Alcohol.

Soothing & Protection: Cucumber Extract, Barley Extract, Sunflower Seedcake, Sesame Oil.

Emollients: Sesame Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Propylene Glycol Dicaprate, Lanolin Alcohol.

Best Ingredients for Different Skin Types

Dry Skin: Petrolatum, Glycerin, Urea, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sesame Oil, Stearic Acid.

Sensitive Skin: Cucumber Extract, Barley Extract, Sunflower Seedcake (but watch for potential irritation from fragrances, dyes, and triethanolamine).

Aging Skin: Sodium Hyaluronate, Urea, Glycerin (hydration is key for reducing fine lines).

                                              Conclusion

This formula contains many beneficial moisturizers, humectants, and skin-soothing agents that are excellent for hydration, softening, and protecting the skin barrier. The best ingredients for skin health are Glycerin, Urea, Sodium Hyaluronate, Petrolatum, Sesame Oil, Cucumber Extract, and Barley Extract. The dyes and pH stabilizers offer no skin benefits, but they help the product maintain a stable, appealing appearance.

                                              • @tikei: Just let them use coconut oil in the hot summer weather. I bet you then they will be using some medicated cream containing urea to sooth the skin burns hahaha

                                                • @easternculture: again my guy coconut oil nor this concentrated pot of piss selling for $400/L is not a substitution for SUNSCEREEN

                                                  • @bigpoppa: So you use overpriced zinc on your skin as sunscreen. Just buy a barrel of zinc and apply to your skin rather than the overpriced $1000/l of zinc oxide in sunscreen.

100 kg barrel of 99.995% pure zinc spray wire: This barrel costs US\$7.00 for quantities of 100–499 kg.

I can apply your irrational thinking on everything you eat, drink and Consume.

Have you ever bought bottled water at $6/l when its peanuts per 1000L from the tap.

For the 2024/25 billing period, the rate is $4.10 per 1,000 liters.

How about a fast food burger or chicken at $100/kg of meat when its $10 per kg at the supermarket

                                              • @tikei: none of it explains why this costs $400/L nor why cost-just-right alternatives work just as well if not better for 1/20th the cost of this

        • +3

I can't stand the texture of those ones you listed. They feel so heavy and icky, I only use them on my lips.

        • As I have gotten older, I found that my skin react badly to all those products (whereas before I have no issue with slapping any type of moisturizer on), even the basic type like Simple Kind cause my skin to go red. This is the only one I have found so far to be any good.

        • +1

Let us know what condition you face is in after you soak it with coconut oil and spend a few hours in the humid hot sun in the middle of summer

          • @easternculture: huh? thats like saying let me know what it's like after you add 3 spoons of baking powder into your coffee instead of salt… nether of those go in coffee just like neither coconut oil nor $400 piss is… you know… a SUNSCREEN

          • +1

@easternculture: Side story: We met a man going around the Adelaide Hills, he's a roofer and likes to work shirtless, doesn't use sunscreen, prefers coconut oil, it burns differently he says, crispy? LOL. But that doesn't sound good…

        • +2

That stuff is too strong for my skin (face) and blocks my pores. That being said I love cocoa butter on my body in winter.

  • Can't add birthday month. Birthday gift is greyed out.
Edit. Found it in a Galaxy far, far away.

  • I am sure ppl on this website will all have Dec as Bday month..:)

    • 3000 orders, all birthdays december haha

  • +2

Thank you, great to remind myself that December is my birthday month

  • Would make some nice Christmas gifts, but damn the ingredient list used is terrible. Why do you need colouring for to make your product more appealing to buy.

    • Why do you buy cake that has food colouring ?

Next time you have a birthday party, just buy 2 sponges and slap some thick cream on it. Then let me know what responses you get haha

      • Does it matter if your skincare products is a specific colour? What benefits are there that it's yellow instead of white?

A cake is made to be visually appealing as you're buying it for some celebration, a moisturizer that you apply to your skin gets absorbed in a few mins, you wouldn't be able to tell what colour it is after applying it

        • What benefits are there that it's yellow instead of white?

Why are assuming its white before adding the yellow colouring. It could be brown, purple or even black

          • @easternculture: I don't know, maybe because there's literally thousands of other moisturizer in the market that doesn't use colouring and is white in appearance?

            • @ilikeblue: Your just making an assumption at this point

              • @easternculture: Sorry, what am I assuming right now? Let me know what ingredients you prioritize from the Clinique moisturizer, because I can list out a bunch of moisturizer with Urea and Glycerin (Which are the main moisturizers for the Clinque) that are white and doesn't require colouring for their product.

Here's some examples, Cerave SA Smoothing cream with SA, LRP Lipikar Lait Urea 10%, LRP Iso-Urea MD Baume Psoriasis, Eucerin Advance Repair Lotion, Pyunkang Yul Ato Lotion Blue Label

                • @ilikeblue: Not every chemical reaction produces the same results. So many variables involved during the manufacturing process.

Unless you have proof its white before they add the colouring im willing to continue the discussion. If you dont, then stop spreading misinformation without proof.

                  • -3

@easternculture: Sorry, you're telling me just because 99% of the moisturizers in the market are white in colour when they have no colouring added, it would be different for Clinique?

You can't even tell me what benefits there are in adding colouring to a skincare product so I don't know why you're defending Clinique? Is it because you're a fan of the brand?

You're trying to defend a product that adds colouring to their skincare product which actively worsens (Adds irritancy and clogs your pores) the product?
                    https://incidecoder.com/ingredients/ci-17200

Crazy how fans of a brand can be

                    • -2

@ilikeblue: Im actually not a fan. First time i buy to test it. If i dont like it, ill sell the other one and 50ml on fb marketplace.

I use the ordinary products but giving this a crack based on reviews

      • I actually do prefer the non-dyed sponge cakes with cream over colorful cakes that look too artificial and makes one think overly sweet. Seems like that's the type of cake all my family and friends go for. If it was for a young kid, then yeah, those disgusting fondant cakes are ok in this instance.

    • I'm guessing it's to mask ingredients oxidising and changing colour. I had a cream that had potent ingredients went from beige-white to orange.

      • Isn't that worse though? Wouldn't you want to know if your product has oxidised? Although from what I'm aware, only vit C serums should oxidise

        • +1

As a customer, I'd want to know. As a business, they don't want customers to know.
Interesting how they chose yellow if not for this reason. Oxidised ingredients tend to turn yellow or orange.

My foundation doesn't have vitamin C but turns more orange after I apply it.

          • @tikei: Ah that makes more sense, I don't use makeup/foundation so I have no experience in that

  • Made it work. Thanks OP

  • Bought same deal last year. Used only half bottle.

  • Thanks I’ve been looking for this for the last couple weeks. Codes etc worked for me with the new account set up.

  • Thanks OP! Currently 1/3 way through my second bottle.

  • Credit to cowboydev, when you register the account, select this month as your birthday month then you can add another 50ml lotion to the cart for free

The free bottle will always be the lotion+ and not the gel. I’ve tried pre-adding the 50ml gel but you still get the lotion+!

    • Chat with them see if they can substitute it

  • -3

    Got my concentrated piss today

@bigpoppa, hope you ordered your barrel of zinc to slap on your face instead of buying concentrated zinc oxide 50ml sunscreen tube @ $1000/L

  • -2

I don't see the 'get 1 free' bit. Only a single bottle shows up for me. Live chat tells me the deal has now ended. Wtf am I gonna get the missus now?!
