Choice Magazine - Getting Cheaper Subscription

Hey Team, does anyone know if there is a way to get this cheaper? 100 bucks a year seems expensive.

I subscribed for a year and it was a waste of money. Dubious reviews that left out whole ranges of products and user reviews disagreeing with the choice ones. Save your money.

Go to the library when there is an article you are interested in.

    • Yes good call

    • OP already paid for the magazine via taxes 😏

  • Ah cool, I used to like it just for the way it solved simple problems like what basic appliance to get.

Now you have OzBargain for that :-)

Check the library for your state. In a lot of cases you can access the magazine online with your library membership.

    • Ah right I'll call them tomorrow.

    • My library doesn't grant online access to Choice so I visit my local and read them in batches. There are now so many products on the market in every category that it's difficult to do thorough comparisons. But they may be the only game in town so still worth a skim.

Magazines in reader apps is sufficient but a pain. Sufficient depending on what you're looking at.

On occasion, I just subscribe for 3 months. Generally just for white goods purchases

Yeah Flipster app via library card… and get press reader while you are there as it offers half the magazines and newspapers in the world for free

    • it offers half the magazines and newspapers

Which half? Front or back? Top or bottom? Left or right?

    • Is there a link or guide you can share to access PressReader? I already have Flipster and Choice Magazine access but not PressReader. From what I found, it requires signing up with the State Library of Victoria for $119 per year. Thanks!
