A shame that there is no eSIM with this phone

Only 2 os updates. Disappointing for this price as even some Motorola models now have 5 and Samsung has already started 6 years of os and security updates on their cheap RRP$349 A16

Yeh as soon as I saw that on GSMarena, that put me off completely. The phone is already a year old so Android 16 at best.

    • Yeah I liked my previous two Asus phones but they got pitiful updates.

Really not good enough any more

Yes. It was only ok in the past when the zenfone 9 was $540

        • or my ZF8 that was free after it bricked itself and i got my money back 2.5 years after purchase.

    • They'd need to be giving out free battery replacements to get to five years on a handset!

Even Xiaomi better with my Poco F6 that has a comparable chip and similar screen. Cameras are far worse but apart from that it was almost half the price

  • Reviews for this seems pretty reasonable. Can anyone recommend this or an alternative in this price bracket.

    • I ended up with the z flip series phone. It was for the wife - she owned the zenphone 8, and the size and features were appealing but the updates (even for hardware improvement via firmware) were terrible for a premium priced phone.

She loves the flip with the smaller size when not used. Got here the flip 5 for $600 earlier this year with a stupid Samsung promo (was like a million discount codes that I still can't worked).

      Worth a look?

    • Basically any pixel or Samsung equivalent. The Asus have very short update cycles for one.
