$650 off the RRP and a whole lotta "fone" for the price.

A shame that there is no eSIM with this phone
Only 2 os updates. Disappointing for this price as even some Motorola models now have 5 and Samsung has already started 6 years of os and security updates on their cheap RRP$349 A16
Yeh as soon as I saw that on GSMarena, that put me off completely. The phone is already a year old so Android 16 at best.
Yeah I liked my previous two Asus phones but they got pitiful updates.
Really not good enough any more
Yes. It was only ok in the past when the zenfone 9 was $540
or my ZF8 that was free after it bricked itself and i got my money back 2.5 years after purchase.
@FoxJump: how did you get a full refund
They'd need to be giving out free battery replacements to get to five years on a handset!
Even Xiaomi better with my Poco F6 that has a comparable chip and similar screen. Cameras are far worse but apart from that it was almost half the price
Reviews for this seems pretty reasonable. Can anyone recommend this or an alternative in this price bracket.
I ended up with the z flip series phone. It was for the wife - she owned the zenphone 8, and the size and features were appealing but the updates (even for hardware improvement via firmware) were terrible for a premium priced phone.
She loves the flip with the smaller size when not used. Got here the flip 5 for $600 earlier this year with a stupid Samsung promo (was like a million discount codes that I still can't worked).
Worth a look?
Basically any pixel or Samsung equivalent. The Asus have very short update cycles for one.
